Over all Jackie has 2 albums only in the overall 2011 at Billboard, OHN at # 15 and DWM at # 45 . And all you ever hear is all of the other singers that not even half have 2 albums in the top 50 . I say SHAME on the MUSIC INDUSTRY. ? Who decides on here who & which albums / cd's are voted on , please let it be the people that support their Singers / Musicians.

I had to do a double take there - what is Tori Amos doing on the classical album chart?
Rob, don't understand what your issue is?
Classical music in general is sidelined in the mainstream. Nobody cares (or, shall I say, a minority do), so no papers bother to print about it. They only print what sells and what people demand.

Nobody cares (or, shall I say, a minority do), so no papers bother to print about it. They only print what sells and what people demand. If you look at all of the write ups given by BILLBOARD toward Jackie , you see a steady pattern of where Jackie is just mentioned is in a passing context , Like about Kanye West and Eminem on their albums. And yes Billboard has its own review section and not one of Jackie's albums have been reviewed at all , where as the albums of Kanye West and Eminem and others have, that right there is unfair in my book. I may sound alittle bitter and you would be right but I hate a site that shows bias against a performer , it also shows that Sony / Colombia is not doing their part in supporting Jackie , they should be doing better. Robert, Jackie's music reaches right into our hearts, so I realize it's easy to get riled up about what you see as an slight to her. But as an longtime fan, I've found it's better to celebrate the accomplishments then to fixate on what she may have been denied. Jackie already has an amazing list of achievements, and she is currently #5 on Billboards 21 under 21. Hardly being ignored! There is plenty to be positive about.

The media writes about what people want to read. Classical music is not a highly demanded genre by the masses. It's nothing personal against Jackie. x

Chuck Yates on FB PressofAtlanticCity5 questions with Jackie EvanchoPosted: Thursday, December 15, 2011 12:00 am By ROBERT DiGIACOMO, At The ShoreAt the tender age of 11, Jackie Evancho already has a career most singers can only dream of ever having. The little, blond girl with the big, operatic voice skyrocketed to fame last year when she finished as the runner-up on NBC's "America's Got Talent." Her success on the reality competition led to her hit debut album, "Dream With Me" (Sony Music); getting to meet and perform with Barbra Streisand, Andrea Bocelli and other idols; and landing her first movie role, playing Robert Redford's daughter in "The Company You Keep." For the Pittsburgh native, who appears Saturday, Dec. 17, at Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort in Atlantic City, the dream continues with the release of her "Heavenly Christmas" album (Columbia Europe). Evancho - sounding as much like an ordinary tween as a budding star - chats about wanting to make a difference with her singing and how she still gets to hang out with her friends. Q: Most people your age don't know what they want to be when they grow up, yet you already have an established career. Do you think you've found your life's work? A: Yes, I think that singing is going to be my career and my passion for as long as I live. I would like to bring up awareness with my music, awareness of everything that's happening in the world nowadays with pollution and animals being killed. Q: Looking back at "America's Got Talent," what stands out most from the experience? A: It was the first, biggest performance that I had ever done - it was really exciting. What I remember most is the people I made friends with. I also remember all of the hard work. Q: Are you still doing the "penguin walk" from "AGT" to get over your nerves when you perform? A: I warm up with my mom and make sure I understand what the songs are about, and make sure I'm using the right technique. To be honest with you, I really don't practice a lot. The only time that I have done the penguin walk was on "America's Got Talent." I usually don't do that. But it was "America's Got Talent." Usually I say a prayer and ask the Lord to sing with me and help me and stand on the stage with me. Q: How was it to work with Robert Redford on your first movie? A: It was great - I played his daughter. It was super exciting. Robert Redford is such a nice person - he's very smart and down-to-earth. Out of all the choices of having a first experience with a movie, I think that he was the best one. Q: With so much going on with your career, do you have time to do "kid things?" A: I really like to hang out with my friends and jump on a trampoline and all that. It's fun doing what every other little girl does. Jackie Evancho WHEN: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 WHERE: Mark G. Etess Arena, Trump Taj Mahal Casino Hotel, Atlantic City HOW MUCH: Tickets, priced at $45, $75 and $95, are available at the Taj box office or Read article here: www.pressofatlanticcity.com/ats/entertainment/questions-with-jackie-evancho/article_918e1d3e-cc3e-5c4c-aae2-2ccdea70c755.html

Jackie Evancho is one busy little performerChild singer already has a lifetime of experience By Laura Martin | Staff Writer December 15, 2011 At just 11 years old, Jackie Evancho has an impressive resume. - COURTESY OF Jackie EvanchoAt only 11 years old, classical singer Jackie Evancho is already leading the demanding lifestyle of a veteran entertainer. Preparing for the two television appearances and four concerts she has scheduled for this month alone -- including an Atlantic City performance Saturday (Dec. 17) --Jackie barely had an uninterrupted moment to speak about the whirlwind journey she's been on since coming in second on "America's Got Talent'' last fall. As she periodically politely excused herself to answer multiple phone calls and speak with her manager, Jackie chatted about her new album, meeting President Barack Obama, making her acting debut and how she doesn't feel overwhelmed by her hectic lifestyle. "I guess it's just working out now," says the sixth-grader, who is home-schooled and takes classes online in fit education around her career. "I'm not too busy." Jackie has always been a driven child. A singer her whole life, Jackie began doing talent competitions in her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pa., when she was just 8 years old. By 9, she had issued an independent album "Prelude to a Dream" and record producer David Foster had selected her to sing in his "David Foster & Friends" concert at the Prudential Center in Newark. But it was the Internet that really jump-started the young singer's career. After two failed attempts to land a spot on "America's Got Talent," Jackie posted a video on YouTube as part of a competition sponsored by the television show. Receiving the most votes, the then 10-year-old was accepted as a contestant for "America's Got Talent's" fifth season. For her first on-air performance, she sang Puccini's "O Mio Babbino Caro," surprising the judges and the audience with her strong, adult-sounding soprano voice. "It was super exciting," says Jackie. "Being on the show was a lot of hard work but it all paid off." Becoming the show's runner-up didn't slow down Jackie's career. By November 2010, she had released her first major label debut, an EP titled "O Holy Night." The album became the year's No. 1 best-selling debut recording with sales exceeding 1 million copies, hitting No. 2 on the Billboard 200, No. 1 on the Billboard Classical Chart and No. 2 on the Billboard Holiday chart. That same year she performed for President Obama at the official Christmas tree lighting. Despite frigid temperatures, Jackie remembers it as one of the biggest moments of her career thus far. "Getting to sing for the president was really cool," she says. "But that day I sang, it was freezing cold and I was shivering the whole time. I was wobbling onstage." This year, she has already managed to release her first full-length studio album, "Dream with Me," and make her acting debut alongside Susan Sarandon, Shia LeBeouf, Terrance Howard and Robert Redford in "The Company You Keep," a political thriller that Redford is directing and producing. Right now she is promoting her second full-length album, "Heavenly Christmas," which was released this November. "Heavenly Christmas" features holiday classics like "The First Noel," "Away in a Manger" and "I'll be Home for Christmas." Despite her busy schedule, going home for Christmas is exactly what Jackie plans to do. After performing in her hometown of Pittsburgh on Tuesday (Dec. 20), Jackie says she will be back with her entire family in time for their annual Christmas Eve party. She'll take a small break from the stage (she is scheduled for another concert on Dec. 29 in Las Vegas), but Jackie says she won't stop singing entirely. In the new year, she's scheduled to perform at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark on June 8. "I sing to my whole family on Christmas Eve every year," says Jackie, whose favorite Christmas song is "O Holy Night." "We have a family choir at home, we all sing, but I am the only one who performs in front of a crowd. Christmas is in my religion and it is really fun to do." KATE MIDDLETON HEADS 2011 TEN BEST-MANNERED LIST; KIM KARDASHIAN NAMED MOST ILL-MANNEREDCHARLOTTE, NC (MMD Newswire) December 16, 2011 -- Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, who is commended for being a role model to young people, heads the "Ten Best-Mannered People of 2011," by the National League of Junior Cotillions. The list, which is in its 20th year, is compiled by NLJC, an etiquette and social training program involving thousands of young people in the United States. The 2011 best-mannered individuals are:
1. Kate Middleton - for the poise and dignity with which she conducts herself in the public spotlight.
2. Justin Bieber - for consistently showing courtesy to his fans.
3. Paula Abdul - for her encouragement to aspiring entertainers.
4. Aaron Rogers - for being a positive example for young athletes.
5. Taylor Swift - for inspiring young people with her music and her manners.
6. George Stephanopoulos - for extending warmth and kindness to "Good Morning America" guests.
7. Jackie Evancho - for demonstrating humility and politeness as a young performer.
8. Erin Burnett - for the respect she shows others as a network host.
9. Emma Watson - for the kindness extended to her Harry Potter fans.
10. Tim Tebow - for displaying good sportsmanship on and off the field.
"The annual selections are based on the demonstration of dignity, honor, and respect," says Elizabeth Anne Winters, NLJC National Director. "Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, was chosen for the exemplary manner in which she has conducted herself, before and after her marriage to Prince William of Great Britain."
In addition, Kim Kardashian received the dubious distinction of being named The Most Ill-Mannered Person of 2011, "for making a private matter public and disrespecting the institution of marriage."
Cotillion students and directors nationwide nominate individuals for the "Ten Best- Mannered People" award.

The always-elegant Kate Middleton reigns regal atop this year's list of "Ten Best-Mannered People of 2011," compiled by the National League of Junior Cotillions. The British beauty, praised for "the poise and dignity with which she conducts herself in the public spotlight," was an obvious choice for the title, NLJC national director Elizabeth Anne Winteres said in a statement. High honors also went to Justin Bieber, who took second place for "consistently showing courtesy to his fans." Paula Abdul rounded out the top trio, lauded for her "encouragement to aspiring entertainers." The annual list is compiled by the etiquette and social training program and is based on a person's "demonstration of dignity, honor and respect," Winters said. Cotillion students and directors nationwide nominated individuals to be considered. This year’s best-mannered list included a mix of actors, celebrities, singers and athletes, along with a few surprises. Green Bay Packer hot shot Aaron Rogers landed in slot No. 4 for being a positive role model, followed by Taylor Swift and "Good Morning America" host George Stephanopoulos in 5th and 6th place, respectively. Jackie Evancho, the 11-year-old child singer who wowed viewers in 2010 on NBC's "America's Got Talent," took 7th place for "demonstrating humility and politeness as a young performer." CNN talk show host Erin Burnett placed 8th and "Harry Potter" star Emma Watson came in 9th. Denver Broncos quarterback wraps up the top 10 list for "displaying good sporsmanship on and off the field." One fame monger who didn't make the list? Kim Kardashian. Instead, the reality star took the title of "The Most Ill-Mannered Person of 2011" for "making a private matter public and disrespecting the institution of marriage."
