I actually do think Beachguy is a Jackie fan, perhaps an even bigger one than he would care to admit. At times he does seem a bit conflicted about it, but maybe that's just the contrarian in him he likes to show. Beachguy also gives us lots of peculiar insights, but really, Beachguy, calling Jackie a "puppet"?... that is disappointing, and unnecessary. She's a young girl with a great gift showing the world what she can do, and in my view taking quite a lot of good advice along the way. It's incredible to think all that she is learning at her age. So people want to pick out one word or one sentence of 100,000 +posted in 6 years ?? Pick out some of Mr Trumps' words and he is now going to be the Most Important Man ?? it is called being a ""SHOCK JOCK "" ,with much sarcastic or pulling chains or baiting to get a reactions from others , that makes a good forum , they get the Big $$$$$$$$$$ & viewers either love or hate , again we are all puppets in some manner , a form , a God , agenda etc etc , in other words most all minors are controlled or should be not to run the streets , smoke , drink , drugs , etc and show-biz minors are puppets to their management , fans , social media , sales ,etc etc Fair point, Beachguy. To be a writer is to be a risk taker. Every time the writer puts thoughts down into words they are grabbing the bull by the horns. That's what I respect about you - your commitment to your ideas. It might come from the old street-fighter in you (and, for that matter, the old fist-fighter in Cas43: you two do have something in common, I think).

Thanks ben and kari. Wow. That's the first Jackie concert, panned by a "real" critic, that I've ever read. It's one that Jackie and company should pay are are very probably paying close and strict attention to. That's a head snapper. A wake up call. To whole heartedly quote a BG ..... "yikes". Hopefully not demoralizing, but taken as part of the learning curve. Time to make adjustments ... perhaps attitudinally as well as materially. Sounds like Jackie needs some Foster type coaching ... if not from the master himself. Arranging, editing, backup and musical direction. Not time to give up or take time off. You dust yourself off, climb back on and keep peddling. It's not over until the fat lady sings. And Jackie's looks she's got a long way to go to "fat". The writer, Steve Barnes, is a restaurant critic: www.timesunion.com/stevebarnes/
In my opinion, Jackie's perfomances are her best when she is working with David Foster. "Lacking an apparent interpretive style or emotional connection to the material", says the food connoisseur. More than anything, it is the opposite of that statement that won me as a fan, or I wouldn't know what I'm doing here. Maybe he is qualified to know, but that doesn't remind me of the Jackie I listen to. Have things changed? I've never seen her perform, but that doesn't seem like the consensus of opinion of those who have, either.

Have not seen Jackie with her sister for a while , Juliet surely is planning a career in the model industry imo , how and where she will fit in with the career of Jackie is any one guess if at all , being a close family as some people say , ( I myself have no idea how close the family is ) perhaps they will help each other out as loving sisters . btw , close ? there is talk of Lisa an her mother on a loan on amazon where Lisa used to post , but I know nothing , nothing I say . They all live in the same house. That's how close they are.

Of course I know everything I want to know about you and how you see Jackie. You've been writing obsessively about yourself and your view of Jackie nearly every day since I joined this forum in the fall of 2014. Unless what you write are lies, then I guess you've fooled me. But I trust what you write is what you think and believe and feel. And what you've revealed about yourself in your writing is about a person who would be the last kind I'd ever want to have anything to do with. If I was Jackie, I'd feel the same. In fact, I would fear you. I've rarely met or dealt with anyone I've disliked and I spent a good part of my life and career traveling the world. In all those travels to many different countries and having dealt professionally and personally with thousands I could say when I retired that I was fortunate to have liked everyone of them I ever met. But you .... You're one sick hombre. As you say, "chemically depressed".... which I've no doubt is a euphemism.
My questions of you .... why are you here? What is your point? Your purpose? You're no Jackie fan. Do you get your rocks off by trying to insult me? Insulting and harassing Jackie with everything you write? What is with you? I am here to make a forum better and more interesting , i entertain some what with topics in the OFF Topic page , i am a Jackie fan dummy , you said you liked to bugg me an you enjoyed it , do you forget things a lot , i don't harass or insult Jackie , prove it over 6 years , saying i am a sick hombre is nasty and shitty and these i don't forget so get used me posting till you run home to the Boss wife , i dislike people of the OTT fan that hurts Jackie more then helps , she can't live up to you kooks with making her what she is not , she is a average normal teen with a very good voice , not some super divine girl , i have been around the world but don't tell my life story as you like to think you are special , you are a baby sitter , nothing more nothing less , people call me colorful an a hound dog if disrespected , making fun of ones health or illness is a new low for even you but proves my point , you are one nasty old kook This is as close as I can come to who Beachguy is, Cas43 (or at least who he reminds me of). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TricksterTrickster is a very ancient archetype in many cultures, notably the American Indian cultures, and I note (as he tells us) that Beachguy does have some Indian blood in him.

Even though this album is a partial retread, I like it quite a bit. It always seemed to me a waste that the songs on the Walmart "Special Edition" weren't really promoted so it's nice that they now get their proper attention. One thing I like about SAC is that the booklet includes the recording information and origin of the recordings. I also believe the song selection is more likely to please her original CC fan base, especially the duets with Domingo and Grigolo. I particularly like the duets, especially "O Holy Night" with Grigolo. I so much love her singing of this song I was apprehensive that something would be lost in duet, but no, their voices blend beautifully. I love Jackie singing "The Little Drummer Boy". In the second version the power of the Il Volo voices lift it wonderfully.

"Perhaps the delay is due to the time Jackie needs writing her own songs." I think you're right there, Don. It does seem that there will be a number of original songs on the album which Jackie has written or co written. These would be her first serious attempts as a song writer. They would be worth taking pains over. Getting the arrangements right for original songs can take time as there are no examples set. Also there was work on some of the songs for the the Christmas album. I wonder if the Christmas album was a requirement of Sony's in return for allowing her more creative scope in the production of Two Hearts.

Reviving from a weekend with my grandsons who as their mother describes them ... "are impossible to tire out". Their energy level? = Red Bull on steroids.
Beware … as I’m going to bash another Jackie forum this morning. One that seems to be a very chatty place for refugees and expatriates especially from the other proboard that suddenly and mysteriously ended, and the Amazon discussion board. But perusing some of the chat threads there, I find the prevailing speculation about Jackie is similar to that you might overhear at a beauty salon preferred by gossipy, crabby old ladies afflicted with bad hair problems every day of their life. The strangest part is that most of the whiny old ladies there … are men. A new, weirder than ever gender challenge for Western civilization?
It was Mark Twain who deliciously quipped that …. “The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.” Jackie might want to borrow that one if she ever needs to personally rebut the seemingly never ending predictions of the impending demise of her career on forums like that …. a career that has somehow survived 8 years … of her fan’s perpetual state of angst about it. Has it had up and downs? What career in the history of existence … hasn’t? Some are able to dust off, get up and move on to greater things. Others … not. C’est la vie.
Maybe the anxiety is caused by lost connection with their adolescent and teen years. Maybe due to a state of denial, because most deliberately want to forget how tumultuous and uncertain those years were for them ……. as they were and usually are most of the rest of the human race. However, as painful as it can be, it’s also the best time in one’s life to make mistakes. To try new directions and paths. The safety net and gps that allows that with redemption is/was our parents and extended family who most still live(d) with and depend(ed) on. Such I believe to be crystal clear ….is Jackie’s circumstance. Oh, I know there’s been much speculation even on this board and most certainly on others that her parents are all about ripping her off. Secretly siphoning funds out of her account for themselves and building their McMansion among many perks ….. on the back of poor Jackie’s slave labor for them. OMG.
Think hard about it. Please. Jackie is a very part time singer. A full time high school student. A full time family member. A full time teenager …. and a mostly typical one at that from what she’s been kind enough to reveal about herself, personally, to her fans … including an outrageously large sock collection. I speculate her career at this stage is resembling what is going on in her real life. Both career and real are, I believe, intimately connected. If you do the math, which parts of her reality proportionately dominates today? That’s right. That’s the correct answer. Now it may not please a bunch of her fans, but she’s being what she is. i.e. A teen.
I love to repeat Jackie’s own profoundly simple answer to the question … “what is your favorite thing about singing”: Answer: “making people happy with what makes me happy.”. Why do some have such a hard time taking her at her word and just being happy with what she does and how she does it? I continue to pray that Jackie never reads the outrageous, trollish crap that is written about her every day by those who purport to be her fans. If it was me, and I learned I had so called fans think about me that way and speculate about me that way … I’d be so demoralized and discouraged I’d quit singing immediately.
Go easy on 'em, Cas43, specially after what you did to poor Beachguy. I wonder if he'll ever fully recover.

The most gifted musician I've know personally in my life was a classmate in college. Like me, he revered the iconic guitar player, Chet Atkins, and my college friend could play tunes on his Gretsch guitar as well as I've ever heard Chet Atkins play them. My friend Ed lived on a farm outside Owensboro, Kentucky. Raised tobacco every summer to pay for college. He spent his summer's sitting on the back porch of the farmhouse, playing his guitar; learning new or improving on old licks and riffs; and watching his crop grow. One of the musical thrills of my life occurred while sitting in the living room of that old farmhouse with my friend Ed and 5 of his Kentucky buddies and their guitars. One of those guys arranged music for Chet Atkins. They were all virtuoso guitar players .... and I got to participate with my old Gibson in an incredible jam session with them. Ed went on to become a priest although he was good enough to be a headline musician.
Here's Chet Atkins and Don Mclean: "Starry Starry Night". I think Jackie sang it only once in concert. I hope she tries it again sometime. Well done Chet and Don. I bought the single when I was a kid (the one with the up-tempo version of "Castles in the Air" as the B-side). I'm astonished Jackie has only sung it once in concert. Can't fathom why. She sings it so beautifully like its never been sung before. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEkw4D00WGM

Seeing members thinking I am not a positive fan I will close down JT on this Day Oct 18th 2016 with in two years over 90,000 views , I invite viewers to go to peeps for Jackie an read stories by Cas43 , more most of members type anyway , an read posts by ben an kari , these will make you all positively happy with the Evancho family , getting a bit too strange for me anyway , i will post comments an write on other threads , I will check out Connie Talbot of UK an Anna Graceman an who I believe have more raw talent as writers of songs an etc . this will make John happy too , no disagreements by members , please be puppets Beachguy .... don't be an idiot. Free speech is still one of our most basic rights in this Republic or the UK. The 1st Amendment protects primarily conflicting and unpopular opinion. It applies here, most definitely. Stay the course. Continue to write what you think, feel and believe. I'm not going to stop you. I will argue and fight with you. But I will never try to stop you from expressing your opinion (as much as I disagree with it) and exerting what is your fundamental right to it. Amen and God bless you. I mean it. It would be a shame if you did that, Beachguy. I don't doubt that you are a Jackie fan, and in the short time I have been a Jackie fan myself I don't think I've come across a bigger Jackie fan than you, even if not in a conventional sense. What you put out is more challenging to her and her fans, provocative even, but nonetheless you have been Jackie-effected otherwise you wouldn't be doing it. The world needs the trickster, the mudhead kachina to challenge our ways of thinking, and you are particularly good at that. What I don't agree with I am free to take with a grain of salt. It is not a crime to be different or to be wrong. You should stay and keep posting. All the best.
