Perhaps we should not push Jackie as if she is 25 or so , she has had few times in show biz as a teen , let her be a teen while she still is , this is a new day and society , the golden age is passed except those still in it , , people who buy with their money must like the artist music of today not yesterday unless you are a from liverpool Yeah. Well nobody I know of, least of all me is "pushing" Jackie. First of all, Jackie doesn't read this forum. And if she did, I wouldn't push her to do or change anything. She's doin' great the way she is. Secondly, some of the songs Jackie sings all the time and seems to love were sung by Vera Lynn and others many years ago .. including What a Wonderful World (1967), When you Wish Upon A Star (1940), When I Fall In Love, (1952, Some Enchanted Evening (1949) among a bunch of others that made pretty good money for her. Jackie's gonna do what she's gonna do. Whatever pleases her and what she perceives and believes please her audiences. So far, so good.

I have a ticket for the tribute concert for Dame Vera Lynn to be held on March 18th, just two days before her 100th birthday. One of the performers will be Hayley Westenra (who I believe Jackie also looks to as a role model).
I would be amazed if this song doesn't feature prominently in the concert.
Wow. How wonderful. I am very deep green with envy. Haley is seen with Dame Lynn in the 2010 BBC documentary I posted.

My dad is an old desert rat Tommy, a few years younger than Dame Vera. He said every soldier and the whole of Britain were in love with her. I suppose we could call that the "Vera Effect".

Me thinks BG is pulling the plug on his support for Jackie too early. Lots of interesting developments with her beyond the craziness of the Inauguration. If you watch the Youtube post of her "chat" with bubba, you'll learn that she's releasing her new album, Two Hearts, March 31. You'll also learn why she named it Two Hearts. Other scuttlebutt is that she is no longer attending high school except as an "online" student. Reasons .... anybody's guess. But some are saying the intensity of harassment reached intolerable level after Inauguration and Jacob/Juliet operation. Finally, all 3 of her Feb. CA concerts sold out soon after her Inauguration performance. Looking to be a dynamite year for young Jackie. If BG likes to see Jackie not only smiling but laughing .... he needs to watch that "bubba chat" video. Plus her voice has never sounded better or more powerful than her live performance of Safe and Sound on that show. Worthy of the standing o she got from the studio audience and the "holy cow ..... she's for real" ....look on bubba's face and "wow" forming on his lips. You are right, the CA concerts are sold out.
But I'm very suprised, that for the Concert in her home town March 5, 2017 Pittsburgh, PA Benedum Center, there are still a lot of tickets avaliable.
First Tier (1 avaliable) and Second Tier (2 avaliable) are practically sold out. Directors Circle is more than half avaliable. And in Orchestra 2/3 of the seats are avaliable, which is very strange. Normally this is the first location which is sold out in a Jackie concert. As I said already, it seems very strange for me. A concert in Jackie's home town should be sold out since month.

Backlash over E's lawsuit? Backlash over Inauguration (Never-Trumpers)? Large majority of Pittsburgers voted for Hillary and their animus towards those who supported Trump in any way is still visceral and venomous. Would be heartbreaking to Jackie not to have her hometown show up and support her for that ... or any reason.

Agree as the inner haft of City are the left ( they run the City ) and always been but it seems to be taking a slight turn to right , do not know why a concert there before a new album , perhaps bad timing by her team , she does not make the dates

I agree with possible bad timing of concert. But available dates at that facility may have dictated that schedule as well. Hard to know for sure. But what I'm certain of and most concerned about it is that Pittsburg would surely break her heart if they did not come to her concert and fill that venue to the rafters regardless of new album or not.

Throwback Tuesday: I know it's supposed to be .... on Thursday. But I got a notification on one of my e-mail accounts this morning .... for some reason ... to remind me of this. Why most of us became Jackie fans. Here's the comment I made to this video 3 years ago. Nothing's changed since them. "She is here to remind us of what is truly beautiful. That there is still beautiful, inspired music and an angel among us to perform it."
As millions of very young girls with all kinds of talents , singing is but one way .some are not born with great this or that but with great devotion they work very hard , they become the best in their fields without raw talent , these we need to honor without a halo

As millions of very young girls with all kinds of talents , singing is but one way .some are not born with great this or that but with great devotion they work very hard , they become the best in their fields without raw talent , these we need to honor without a halo Well, I agree .... to a point. From the perspective of a no-talent bozo like me, I sympathize. But as Picasso so wisely put it: The purpose of life is to find your gift. The meaning of life .... is to give it away". Some find it right away .... like Jackie. Others ... late bloomers .. much longer. Some .... never find or even bother to. And others ..... squander and waste their gift. Two of my brothers were truly great, very hard working ..... very gifted athletes. One world class. I watched many equally gifted of their time fritter away and eventually totally waste their natural born athletic talent. Didn't believe in or apply the hard work and discipline even the most gifted need ..... to make it happen. I think the main problem for society today is the opposite of what you contend. We are too often rewarding and even worshiping those with little to no talent, and dissing those with it .... especially those who believe in working hard to "give it away". Jackie was just called earlier this week ..... "the young face of the new nazi party" for singing the National Anthem ... despite the hard work it took to pull it off the way she did .... in front of prox. 1 billion viewers. She's earned and deserves every ounce of praise she gets and has since she was little.

“ ….. to be a good person.” And how do most of us recognize “a good person”? I think most would say when they experience or see a ….. generous person. A person who gives of themself to others. Who loves. Who does for others what they would like others to do unto them. The person who is selfish and egotistical; who does everything for their own interest and satisfaction is usually only thought of as “a good person” ….. by that person.
Another genius said what Picasso did in another way. “Nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a bushel basket, but puts it on a pedestal so that it gives light to everyone in the house”.
Our “purpose” is predetermined. It is not ours. Purpose belongs to the one who gives the gift to us. Each of us are here as players in a story about a journey to find a unique and special something that has been given to each of us. Strangely, when we find it, we cannot truly enjoy it and understand its meaning ….. unless and until we share it with others. Give it away.
Picasso also said: “What I do does not come from me … but through me”. He humbly recognized that his gift, i.e. expression of artistic genius … was given to him …. as any gift is … by someone else and that it wasn’t his to keep for his own enjoyment … but intrinsically meant to be shared.
Most of us strive to live a life that has meaning; and most of us find life’s meaning not from when and what we get … but only in what and when we give. Being a good person may be a hundred opinions as our purpose , some say purpose is to continue the human race but purpose is NOT predetermined as people can and do change it more then once , perhaps a good person is a Monk that never is seen but gives of prayer that no one sees or hears , humans get 100% from their human makers NOT theories not of logic but principles of a body of facts but there are dreamers
