“ ….. to be a good person.” And how do most of us recognize “a good person”? I think most would say when they experience or see a ….. generous person. A person who gives of themself to others. Who loves. Who does for others what they would like others to do unto them. The person who is selfish and egotistical; who does everything for their own interest and satisfaction is usually only thought of as “a good person” ….. by that person.
Another genius said what Picasso did in another way. “Nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a bushel basket, but puts it on a pedestal so that it gives light to everyone in the house”.
Our “purpose” is predetermined. It is not ours. Purpose belongs to the one who gives the gift to us. Each of us are here as players in a story about a journey to find a unique and special something that has been given to each of us. Strangely, when we find it, we cannot truly enjoy it and understand its meaning ….. unless and until we share it with others. Give it away.
Picasso also said: “What I do does not come from me … but through me”. He humbly recognized that his gift, i.e. expression of artistic genius … was given to him …. as any gift is … by someone else and that it wasn’t his to keep for his own enjoyment … but intrinsically meant to be shared.
Most of us strive to live a life that has meaning; and most of us find life’s meaning not from when and what we get … but only in what and when we give. Being a good person may be a hundred opinions as our purpose , some say purpose is to continue the human race but purpose is NOT predetermined as people can and do change it more then once , perhaps a good person is a Monk that never is seen but gives of prayer that no one sees or hears , humans get 100% from their human makers NOT theories not of logic but principles of a body of facts but there are dreamers If goodness and good are merely someone's opinion ... then goodness and good do not and cannot in fact exist. That belief is the recipe for anarchy .... which seems to be trying to prevail and rule here and all over the once Civilized world today. To each his own. You cannot sustain a civil society with everyone believing his opinion should rule. That truth is whatever any one wants to believe it is. That's insanity. Not reality.

The framers of the U.S. Constitution and the Founding Fathers to a man, for instance, including the Deists, Jefferson and Franklin, gave credit for what they produced to an immutable source. That source they did not believe was man; because if it was, then the rights of man and the laws that guaranteed and protected those rights .... would be subject to change according to the whims and fancies of men to suit the times or whatever was popular or what the mob demanded. It's why they believed the rights enumerated in the Preamble were inalienable. And they believed that .... rightly so. Not my opinion or anyone else's. A "fact" still intact ... but under attack today by a mob of the politically insane.

Here's a song for Beachie by one of my favorite groups of all time. A-Ha. "I Dream Myself Alive."
They had a dream of becoming Knights of The Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav , haha big chance of that

Maudlin. Emotionally silly. Tearfully sentimental. Schmaltzy. "Caruso". Jackie sang this ridiculous song again at her concert last night. Some fans absolutely love it. Find it beautiful. Apparently Jackie as well or she wouldn't sing it. So I expect it will be included on her next album. But .......? Here's the English translation of the lyrics. Seriously? One of my brothers used to do a hilariously funny, lampoon dialogue between the two iconic Italian thespians .... Ana Magnani and Ugo Tognazzi, (even their names cracked me up). The lyrics from this song would have fit his schtick perfectly. When I think more about it, maybe this song is really satire of typically buffoonish Italian opera recitative and aria. Not Gilbert and Sullivan for sure. But I can't get through reading it without laughing out loud. Jackie song picks are usually spot on. Not this time ... unless she's doing it for laughs. Here, where the sea shines and the wind blows on an old terrace on the Sorrent gulf a man hugs a girl, after she had cried then he clears his voice and begins again to sing. I love you very much very very much, you know it's become a chain that melts the blood inside the veins, you know He saw the lights in the middle of the sea and thought about the nights there, in America but they were just the boats (with lights, used to fish during the night) and the white trail of a propeller He felt pain in the music and got up from the piano but when he saw the moon coming out from behind a cloud even death seemed sweet to him he looked in the eyes of the girl, those eyes green as the sea then suddenly a tear slipped out and he thought he was going to drown. I love you very much very very much, you know it's become a chain the melts the blood inside the veins, you know Power of lyric, where every drama is fake and with a bit of make-up and mimic you can become another person but two eyes, so close and so truthful, looking at you make you forget the words and confuse your thoughts so everything becomes small, even the nights there, in America you turn around and you see your life as a propeller's trail Yeah, it's life that ends, but he didn't think too much about it on the opposite, he felt (already) happy and began again to sing I love you very much very very much, you know it's become a chain that melts the blood inside the veins, you know Not a Beatle song for sure but people really care less about the real meanings , it just about if the tune moves them somehow

This moves one alright .... right to the nearest restroom. Hard laughing always makes many want to relieve themselves. My guess is, maybe only a few of Jackie's fans can see or find the rather obvious humorous and satirical nature of this composition. It can't possibly be a serious song ... lyrically. Like Gilbert & Sullivan, melodically maybe. Many of their funny and satirical songs were compelling and extremely enjoyable melodically. The joke may be on her fans who seem to like it. I prefer and hope it not be on an unsuspecting Jackie.

The triteness of the lyrics translated into English of Ombra Mai Fu is often pointed out, yet in Italian it is one of the most beautiful songs ever.

However, my favorite of all Jackie's songs ..... she also sings in Italian. Nella Fantasia. The melody by an Italian composer. The Italian lyrics ... by an English lass and one of Jackie's Crossover heroines (mine too) ...... Sarah Brightman. It translates well .... to my ear, mind and heart anyway .... in every possible way.

Another throwback Tuesday. Nella Fantasia by Jackie Evancho. If you don't believe there's a loving God out there besides Peachy Beachy after listening to this .... you may have unfortunately been born without a soul. Now I know BG is going to pounce on what I'm going to write next like a fly on you know what. It's what I posted early this morning as a commentary to an extremely long winded, convoluted, needlessly mind bending American Thinker essay by some self proclaimed intellectual lamenting how the digital age we live in is destroying man's ability to know and contemplate the sublime and supreme.
This is my version of Nella Fantasia as I composed it and published it this morning:
"I perceive myself as living in and on a work of art. A creation like no other that I or anyone else living here can conceive of. Realizing that did not come to me or anyone else I’m aware of by contemplating a painting of it, or a film of it, or reading a book about it, digitally reproduced or otherwise. Only through direct encounter with other creatures, aware or unaware that they are another of their Creator’s masterful brush strokes …… or among many other unique characters in an eternal story written about and for them."
PS. Happy Valentines Day to all who read this and listen to America's Valentine sing ... Nella Fantasia. "In my imagination". The imagination and the dreams it makes and has is where all "facts" begin.
It is not wise to dwell in the passed and dreams as that Jackie is long gone , she now likes the "" Walking Dead "" show , time to move on , if there is this God and it sees humans killing each other by millions and babies in the so called mothers it must think ""HOLY HELL WHAT DID I DO , i SHOULD HAVE STAYED WITH ANTS "" human are the lowest form of animals as they are suppose to have a soul , yea right , dream on as the world spins on the almighty $$$$$$$$$$$ ask Jackie how much her new Album will be

But, I am concerned about you old buddy. Have you checked your pulse this morning to see if you're still ticking. You know there are some things that are timeless, like that song and Jackie's rendition of it. None better then, now or likely tomorrow or every tomorrow after that.
As far as that God that "see humans killing themselves and babies" ... I share your horror at it. Drove by a big billboard just a couple blocks from Cleveland Clinic yesterday advertising in big bold letters for all of Cleveland to see: "I AM GRATEFUL FOR MY ABORTION".
But here's the thing. Do you believe you're free? That you have an ability to make choices .... and in this Country (USA) especially, a maddeningly limitless number of them, available to you at any moment of any day. That God you detest as cruel .... if He existed .... brilliantly and generously created you to be and live as a free man. In fact our Constitution made it law .... the law of the land that you as a citizen of these United States of America live free. Not everybody, unfortunately bought into that when it was written ... and still don't today. And I've got to believe, BG loves his freedom(s). Consequently, men on this planet are free to own and abuse slaves as some of this Nation's Founders did and... as many in the middle east and Africa .... still do today. Evil. You bet. Man was also made free to imagine a world that isn't like that.... and given the ability to be inspired to make laws and a system of justice to end that kind of activity. This Country did so and England before it ... a long time ago. Man was also created free to accept those laws and the civil way of life they allow .... or violate them and live in horrible places of their own making .... like Syria or Iran etc.. Man as created is free to kill babies .... or love and take care of them. Would you prefer to live free .... or with the judgmental thumb of a god on you constantly to prevent you from making choices whether to do good .... or evil? Or to have fish and chips tonight for dinner instead of burgers on the grill?
