Beachguy, I am so glad you created this thread in the right section - Off Topic   Well john , they do call me besides other names  " Colorful " BTW thanks to CCUK for having this section as it can make forum more colorful  I am very un-normal which I am jolly proud of  BTW #2 , I had a Twilight  Zone on other site , it was out of sight , far out , you know only the mild Beachguy , just received a tweet from UK from a ""Sapphire"" I received a album months ago and put it in my closet , forgot it completely , I look at it and find a first "Sapphire"" album so I ordered the other 2 from her and told her "U"" will have MORE .  I did bestow the "colorful antics" description on you back then, while in your defense against the ever growing stoning mob . And there was supposed to be a compliment somewhere in my statement. But I have just now racked my brain, and still cannot remember what that compliment was?! |

Hmmm... Probably the wisest thing would be to avoid political discussion on the forum. My view is that the majority voted with their heads rather than their hearts. As an Englishman I am very pleased that the Kingdom remains United. Thanks John, for dispensing your dose of wisdom .
An anecdote: Fifty years ago, Singapore, a "rock" at the southern tip of the Malaysia Peninsula, was separated from Malaysia and becoming an independent country. At that time the general wisdom was that Singapore had embarked on an impossible mission, and probably "self-destruct in 5 seconds". Even Ethan Hunt from the IMF  would not be able to help Singapore complete the mission, LOL! Fast forward 50 years....... Think before you cut !! a man was at the large garbage pin looking in a garbage bag , talkin to himself an swearing at the bag , he was a tough looking dude you didn't want to mess with at this time  , he looks an looks then finds one piece needed then back in bag like a mad man looking , looking then he at last find other one , good he tosses bag back in pin but wait one more piece is needed , back in the bag , one by one he looks now , a couple woman walking dogs take a wide turn from this insane  man , he is down to one can of green beans , he looks in the half pushed lid , sees nothing but shakes the can , a noise is made , can't be a bean , he pushes the lid gentle in more and behold the other piece needed , God is good , why to go guy the guy cut a healthy debit card by mistake , but thought where it may be , yes it was ..................................................ME BTW , thanks for the garbage man for being late I will have to tell ben this positive story  Live Acu Weather Report: Due back-to-back cold fronts from Siberia, the Northeastern part of the United States' been hammered by record freezing temperatures and record amount of snowfall. The Hudson River of NYC is partially frozen.... Boston blanketed by 7-8 ft of snow......... Even Miami cannot escape the cold front, and the snowbirds   there are already whining about the unbearably cold 40 degrees temperature, LOL! Elsewhere, the schools in the 'Burg have been shut down. School children are seen playing and frolicking everywhere in the snow , enjoying their windfall day off. The Burg's own songbird Jackie and friends have been sighted busy building snowman, throwing snowballs at each other, and sliding down the snow covered slopes at the back of her house, and generally having a fantabulous good time for all  ! Wait, this just came in...... Our Dopper Satellite has just picked up the image of a bald guy with massive arms, frentically trying to dig himself out of the snow, shovelling snow every which way. Let's zoom in to see if can get a better picture..... Oh my, it's that rascal dumpster diver Beachguy , whom Lisa has described as "curious"! He was just in the news last week for his dumpster diving antics, and he is now back in the news. In this community he is well know for having put his foot in his own mouth and dug himself into deep holes numerous times before, but inexplicably he always managed to dig himself out each and every time . In that respect you may say that it is miraculous, or that he's a genius, or that it's plain dumb luck, to have always pull that off. The hole he is in now is no deeper than those before, so I wouldn't worry too much about him. I know he can..... I know he can....... We may speculate all we want, and by luck some speculations might turn out to be accurate. But the fact remains that no outsiders know what's going on behind close doors. What Jackie does in her downtime remains private and on need to know basis. So until proven otherwise, your statement is just speculation, no more, no less.

There was a dog show scheduled for that Tuesday in the hotel exhibition hall. Saw people bringing in their dogs while on my way going down to the hotel lobby at around 9.30am. There was big commotion in the lobby, and at first I thought those darn rowdy dog owners. Then I saw on the lobby monitor the twin towers on fire. It did not hit me that it was terrorist acts. Just thought it odd that both towers would catch fire at the same time. Then I gathered from news broadcasts that planes actually hit the two towers about 15 minutes apart. Close to 3,000 souls perished that day. Pure evil on display.
My boss and my family were frantically trying to reach me, but all phone systems, land lines or cellular, were overloaded. My boss was concerned that, since it was the last day of my business in New York, I might have gone off to World Trade Center for sightseeing. But he needed not worry, because I had visited World Trade Center before, and definitely had no desire to visit it again.
Being 40 blocks away from ground zero, I was never in any danger. But since airports were shut down, instead of my original plan of flying back to L.A. that Tuesday afternoon, I ended up spending my 3 longest days in Manhattan, and not able to go home until Friday when airports were re-opened. I took the 1st flight out of Newwark Airport heading for home sweet home!
