Some of Jackie Evancho's fans were rather upset when she sung a few bars from Lady GaGa's hit Poker Face at DF's concert, complaining how disturbed they were that Jackie was following the trashy Lady's music. Everyone is entitled to an opinion of course. I just wanted bring attention to the PG-rated Thanksgiving Day special Lady GG did for ABC TV. In the latter part of the show, she has a very personal and revealing interview with the legendary Katie Couric. I was surprised to learn that at the age of 9 she fell in love with CLASSICAL music, and it was the segue to her love for popular music. Although the segment is a bit long, I found it quite compelling, and I believe you will too. Here it is:

Thank you Edinathens for a very insightful post about Lady GaGa. It is for certain that I would not have gone in search of such an interview and consequently I would have remained quite ignorant about a very complex and talented personality. She almost seems to have a schizophrenic personality because she maintains a showperson persona which she allows her audience and fans to see, know and be a part of while maintaining a very private and close family relationship in a non-showperson environment. She manages the split very well but I can imagine that it could be very stressful trying to keep those two distinct worlds separated. She is very a very talented, complex and unique individual. I wish her well in her endeavours.

Here it is: unlike many of Jackie fans I never thought of Lady Ga Ga as trash but they believe lots of people are trash with any real knowledge , that's what they do  |
