Jackie’s first performance on America’s Got Talent left audiences and judges astonished that such a perfect, beautiful, soprano voice could come from a 10-year-old girl. The young soprano from Pittsburgh with the stunning voice won runner-up and launched her music career, signing with Columbia Records, shortly thereafter. Since her appearance on the show that made her famous Jackie has been able to break through being typecast as “reality show singer” and has established herself as a legitimate force within the classical crossover genre. In the short time since gaining fame, Jackie’s unique, gorgeous, soprano voice has won her millions of fans and her recordings have dominated the music and DVD charts. Jackie’s last studio release was in July of 2014. “Awakening” was her third studio album and like her other albums before, “Awakening’s entered the Billboard Classical Chart at number one. She toured to promote the album thru 2015, and “Awakening” ended 2015 at the number 3 spot on Billboards Year End Classical Chart and Jackie was number 5 on Billboards classical album artists chart. Just Jared Jr. included Jackie on their Top 25 music acts of 2015. And in 2015, Jackie released her rendition of “Safe and Sound” from her favorite film, The Hunger Games to rave reviews. Also, in 2015, Jackie performed at her highest profile event to date: A performance for the Pope when he visited the US back in November. Her rendition of “When you Wish upon a Star” is a YouTube highlight. 2016 sees Jackie turning 16. She will release a number of singles and videos and eventually release her 4th studio album. She will continue to tour along with continuing her education. And the journey continues……

Jackie Evancho’s voice filled Carnegie Hall at 12; she’ll be at the Vets on SundayBy Susan Mcdonald Special To The Providence Journal - November 24, 2016 Jackie Evancho performs at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, at Veterans Memorial Auditorium, 1 Avenue of the Arts, Providence. 421-2787. Tickets start at $62. vmari.com. PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Jackie Evancho is a refreshingly different child star — dubbed a prodigy, she says she is often bullied by kids in her public high school who wrongly assume she is a diva. “I don’t think I would ever become full of myself. That’s how I’ve been my whole life,” she says simply in a telephone interview from her Pittsburgh-area home. She does add that “I try not to think about (my career) too much at all because I’m afraid I’ll get a big head. I feel like being conceited would be slapping fate in the face.” Kids at school don’t always give Evancho the benefit of that wisdom, making false accusations that she’s snobbish. “I’m actually kind of a shy person,” she says. “When I’m on stage, it’s like I’m a whole different person, like I’m telling someone else’s story.” Her fascination with musical stories started with the film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “The Phantom of the Opera.” She started singing and posting videos of herself on YouTube. At the age of 10, buoyed by the enthusiasm of her online fans, she submitted a video of her interpretation of “Panis Angelicus” for consideration on the fifth season of the NBC show “America’s Got Talent.” The gutsy move — and her talent and stage presence — earned her second place on the show and launched her recording career. Her music is generally categorized as classical crossover, but Evancho says she likes “testing my limits” with songs from a broad range of genres. “I don’t like having limits,” she acknowledges, although she says hearing her soprano belt out country or rap tunes isn’t likely to happen anytime soon. Len Rausch After attending all 3 of Jackie's wonderful Christmas concerts over this past weekend, I'm finally getting around to sharing a few of my photos. Most were taken at the very end of the concert, when it was no longer much of an issue. Hence, mine are all of the red dress. The mom and daughter were moved from the rear of the theatre to the 2nd row with a few extra tix that I had, so it made for a nice photo op. The daughter (I sure do wish that I was better at remembering names), also went home with one of Jackie's new Christmas CD's, so she was extra thrilled. 😊 In retrospect, the concerts, the fellow fans, the interactions with other concert goers, and even a few little interactions with Mike and Jackie, away from the concert, made for a very memorable TG weekend. And, on TG day, I even found out, that next June, I'm going to be a granddad for a second time. Yahoo! I definitely have much, for which to be thankful, this year Check out photos here www.facebook.com/groups/160024457441608/permalink/1062595337184511/
