Ok. Then frivolous and shallow it is.
Some suggestions for future Jackie albums. After her teen-experiment, "awakening" years are behind her.
How about any song from Joni Mitchell's album, "Clouds". Soulful. Poetic. Soprano.
How about "Changes": Sit by my side. Come as close as the air. And share in a memory of gray. And wander in my word. To dream about the pictures I play .... of changes. Look up Sylvia Fricker and Ian Tyson's rendition. Beautiful stuff.
If I Loved You. From Carousel.
Goodnight My Someone. Music Man.
I Loved You Once in Silence. Camelot.
Try to Remember, Fantastiks.
Getting to Know You. The King and I.
And many many more from so many fantastic musicals of that era. My Fair Lady. Sound of Music. Oklahoma. All timeless works of art. Enduring to please from generation to generation. Jackie's voice and persona is perfect for those songs and roles .... even now.
But .... It's Jackie's life and career to live. In the meantime, during the "awakening" period, I'm afraid I'm going to have to tune out as a fan. Wish her the best, which I trust with that voice and heart she is guaranteed. Ben? Mark Twain? .....profoundly "deep" fun while it lasted.

Anybody wanna affirm or deny my suggestions? Add more? Ron? Ben? (profoundly good "deep" stuff while it lasted.) well we have a few members posting but why not more I can't answer that , I think John it will depend where the team wants to go ? they may be forced to show their hand before they wanted to as far a young movement , now the record Companies want albums to sell if they are paying the bill so we will know in about a year with little hints and cues slowly where she is heading as far as music , I would had liked her and Jake doing some Fleetwood Mac sound or for Jackie the sounds of a Enya as Jackie sang "Only Time" sooo good , that type fits her nicely but again it goes back to her age Now , I see lots of 11 to 14 year olds during pop and very good at it in fact , some light-hearted tunes with help of backups and sounds so what you like in Class Music may have to wait till she is 40 , I think sadly many will tune her out for a good while as the team is asking themselves ""what happened "" sad part is they didn't do research enough , she is really a fun teen but they paint her much older for what ever reason , no fresh thinkers or open minds , it was like what do they know addressed to some of us , well they know now , stick around john as we need thinkers and opinions not OTT fans but common sense ones

Indeed it was. The query that started the "deep", apparently off-topic discussion with ben and Mark Twain and I was: that "the Jackie Evancho phenomenon" is more than about just a 10 - 14 yo with an extraordinary voice.
Young divas like Miley and Taylor (with whom my 4 year old nephew is hopelessly smitten) are attractive to millions with horrendously bad taste in music. More accurately those attracted to and by mindless noise. The kind you're assaulted with while pump gas.
Jackie's appeal, to this time, has been to those who are able to love and appreciate .... music. That's been her niche and has earned her the adulation, applause and reward of those in a market populated by those blessed with good taste not only in music, but good judgement about the quality of the one performing it.
The discussion that was aborted yesterday actually was exploring that and would have led (imo) to some interesting opinion about it. Ben, the spiritual explorer and pilgrim; Mark Twain, the secular humanist. John, a practical romantic. All with good, mature taste in music and people. All Jackie fans. All concerned about the direction "the awakening" has taken.
There are some qualities about all of this that are just astounding. A 12 year girl enchanting an audience of 100,000 Russians gathered in a square in St. Petersburg. Stunning them with not just her voice, but her presence. Precisely harmonizing, note for note with one of the world's premiere opera singers. Flabbergasting.
A 10 or 11 or 12 or 13 or 14 year old coordinating with a large, symphonic orchestra backup. Time after time. Flawlessly. In many different venues. Blending as though she's one of the instruments. What makes that particularly astounding is Jackie's recent admission that she doesn't practice much. Kind of lazy about it. Do you know how many performer's hearts were broken hearing that?
Miley and Taylor may inspire mult-millions to .. what? Spend lots of money on noise. Jackie inspires many to tears of joy. Their hearts touched by something pure and good. I've said it more than once. To me it best describes it. "Jackie finds the soul of every song she sings and is always able to touch the hearts of her audience with what she discovers there.
Jackie, God willing, has got a long life and career ahead of her. She's been blessed with beautiful appearance and heart: inimitable singing voice: faith in a loving, providential God: wonderful family, friends and fans to support her on her journey.
The entertainment industry can be very destructive ... especially to its youngest performers. Often due to impatience. Impatience to make lots of money. Impatience for fame and celebrity. I think we are concerned about that kind of threat to Jackie. Not only to her career potential, but to her person. This young lady is loved. "Deeper than music"? Indeed it is. Much deeper.

Kind of lazy about it. Do you know how many performer's hearts were broken hearing that? Miley and Taylor may inspire millions to scream and thrash and grovel in some form of primitive reverie. I can agree with about 85% of your deep thoughts John , that's very good for me , I like your deep insight to us three , all you say of Jackie is true but you must know there will be a 21 year old Jackie who will tell the story of her personally and her career much more and true about Miley which I have no respect for but Miss Swift I read as a good person using the system to gain financial security and in that way do as she may like in career , I believe Jackies' team wants to be more patience but the bills need to be paid so their hand may be forced sooner then they wanted , time will tell , BTW I had many deep conversation with a Robin from other forum I believe you would have enjoyed as they where so DEEP you needed boots Regards , secular humanist

I'm praying Jackie "breaks-a-leg" tonight at the Morristown concert. Isn't this the first live concert of the "Awakening" tour? Despite my criticism of the album content I'm rootin' for her to just blow the roof off the place with one of her best all time performances. Go Jackie.

Not scarey. Means Jackie's going to blow the roof off the joint. (the technical name for this is "synchronization" ... or "small miracle".) Lot's of love and prayer aimed right at this young lady tonight. She'll do fine.

Waiting to see how Jackie's first Awakening concert goes is somewhat stressful. She has been unwell, and so many things going on. Hope for Health and Happiness for her first, as a good friend would say. -------------- Edit add: Yes, A lot of fans are thinking of Jackie right now, Synchronous thoughts, call them what you will (prayers, quantum entanglement, karma, whatever) Perhaps it makes a difference, at least in some parallel universes

Cas3 said basically what I was typing 10 seconds before I posted.. Scarey. See we are fast here in London town , you are needed here also robinb as I just told John how me and you would have Deep conversations ,in Deepest depth of the oblivious twilight zone , like a dicotyledon growing to speak where no man down under would dare to speak , yes this is a important concert night for Jackie but absents makes the heart yen so she should be fine but if others do badly in ticket sales then we might read Jackie broke a leg slightly and some cut in tours , time will tell so lets us hope with positive vibes
