Everyone who attended the concert is giving great reviews. Mario changed his song selection a bit and the audience loved it. One song in particular, caused the greatest comments. It was totally new, light and very funny. It's called Rossini 'cat duet', Duetto Buffo di due Gatti. I can't wait to see a video of him and George Perris singing it. I hope someone posts in on YouTube. There is a video of it on YouTube with Mario singing the song with Alkistis Protopsalti, who peformed with him in Athens for two weeks and was in the Boston concert with Hayley Westenra. The video on YouTube is of such poor quality, it seems they are almost in the dark but the lyrics - if the are lyrics- are extremely funny. Mario isn't noted for this type of music but the audience loved it. His audience was also delighted to meet Steve Wood, the producer of Mario's albums, at he Meet and Greet. If you very informed about old musical theatre and songs that have passed the test of time, you may remember West Side Story. I saw it in the 1960's. Mario played the part of Tony on stage in London many years ago. The man who played the part of his enemy was George Chakiris, he played Bernardo. George Chakiris was at the concert and gave Mario high praise. Songs form West Side Story include most notably, 'Maria' and 'Somewhere'.
