One can never discount the powers of persuasion site members can have on me . I just went on a shopping spree and ordered or added several new albums to my collection ;D. In order to enhance my library with albums from Nicola's 2011 Best Album Nomination list, I ordered Mario Frangoulis - Beautiful Things and Il Volo - Il Volo. I also downloaded Kanon - A New Story and Sisca - Impermanent Life. I normally prefer to have the physical CD, but in the case of the latter two albums, I downloaded them from i-Tunes because the actual CD was either unavailable (Sisca) or extremely expensive (Kanon) . While on my shopping spree, I ordered two albums from Bruce Anderson's website. These include Unity and Sorrento. Samantha Link can take the credit in persuading me to check out Bruce's music. Additional Amazon purchases include Mark Masri - Intimo: Love Songs of Italy and La Voce as well as Russell Watson - La Voce. I also went to Micheal Castaldo's website and ordered three albums: Extravergine, Villa and Aceto. I had previously ordered the two latter albums from Amazon.com in late September but Amazon was taking too long to fill the order so I cancelled it. Better to go to the website directly . It is a little odd how 10 out of the 12 albums ordered are male artists, this from an avowed lover of female performers Guess I am expanding my horizons. My wife will certainly be happy with my order She loves male performers This past week I purchased Michael Buble's Christmas album. For those of you tired of the same interpretation of the same music, I highly recommend this album. Michael has succeeded in giving Christmas classics a fresh new twist . Looks like I will be burning a lot of music to my iPad/iPhone playlists in the coming weeks.

Hmm... let me try to remember albums I actually *purchased* (as many are sent to me - artists should stop though since I no longer review albums!)
Libera - Christmas Album (recommend) Gari Glaysher - Somewhere Saara Aalto - Enkeleitä - Angels
Wow... that's it. I have lots of new albums recently, but they were found in my PO Box. XD

Predictably, as soon as it was announced I ordered Jackie Evancho's (Heavenly Christmas) CD, which I found to be entirely charming. Also, to round out my Christmas music, I downloaded (Elvis Christmas) from Amazon, an bargain at just $5.00-US for 23 songs. I was surprised to find I had next to no Elvis in my music folder, I'll have to work to rectify that.

I was first introduced to Sarah Brightman when watching Andrea Bocelli's DVD concert - A Night In Tuscany. During that outdoor concert I fell in love with two women singing quite differently. Marta Sanchez and Sarah Brightman, I was hooked both to their vocal sound and their natural beauty. I still listen to Marta a Spanish Pop Diva, since discovering Jackie Evancho I find myself drawn to Sarah.
I have not until recently owned any cd by Sarah and now find myself repeatedly playing my two new acquisitions; EDEN and LA LUNA. The more I listen to Sarah the more I hear Jackie emerging from her mentor.
They each have voices that can melt you with just a few bars from the right song that showcases their unquestionable talent. I wish for Jackie to have as successful a career as Sarah who is clearly the Queen of Classical Crossover.
We are certainly ready for more of Sarah to break forth. I await her new release.

If you look at my album collection - you will see how many Sarah Brightman albums I have (A LOT!)
Unfortunately, she is not showing many signs of recording a new album - she has turned her head to films and directing. She also finished her contract with EMI and appears to have let Frank Peterson (her long-time producer) go.
I'd say you have the more important albums - you are missing Timeless (otherwise known as Time To Say Goodbye) in America. Then you have the big three definitive CC albums of the whole genre. Still recommend Fly, Harem, Symphony and her ALW release Surrender: The Unexpected Songs (her voice was at its peak during that recording).

Thank you for the recommendations, I will look into those albums and see if they are available through Amazon Canada.
Based upon your comments about what is happening now with Sarah, it would almost seem that she is contemplating retirement. That action would mean a huge loss to the CC genre. Hopefully it is only something like a little rest and relaxation.

I can't see Sarah Brightman ever retiring. She is a workoholic through and through. 5 years elapsed between Harem and Symphony so she can take a while when she feels like it.

That comment is a very welcome relief.

My collection of Cantamus albums has suddenly doubled. I bought 'Joy' and 'Noël' at their concert this evening.

I've recently bought Vittorio Grigolo - The Italian Tenor Alfie Boe - Bring Him Home Darragh McGann - Inside Out, which may or may not count as CC. It is sold as Classical Pop.

I am amazed at the number of artists who have been mentioned in this topic whom I have never heard of. Is there somewhere information about these artists is available other than on this site? I always seem to be so far behind the rest of you. Do you have a Uk publication of some sort?

Most of my information comes from Facebook, and seeing what 'friends' are talking about. I know you are not there, Bonnie and I understand your reasons. It took a long time for Nicola to persuade me to join, but I don't regret it. Rebecca Nelson is a young New Zealand singer. She was mentioned recently in another thread on this forum and I think Nicola said that she will be added to the main site at some time. www.rebeccanelson.co.nz/Greta Bradman is Australian. She is incidentally the granddaughter of the famous cricketer Donald Bradman. I found out about her from a thread somebody started on the previous CC forum. www.gretabradman.com/featuredInfo/home.doI thought Katie Melua was internationally famous. One of her best known songs is 'The Closest Thing to Crazy' which was covered by Camilla Kerslake on her first album. Katie is not CC. I had never heard of Darragh McGann either.

Darragh McGann is an Irish Lyrical Baritone/Crooner. His singing style is different from any that I have heard before. www.thesingingtaxidriver.com/fr_darraghmcgannirishlyricalcrooner.cfmI also forgot I have recently bought: Opera Babes Beyond Imagination Byrn Terfel Simple Gifts I'm not sure if I like these yet, I need to take some time and listen more closely before deciding.
