For those still suffering withdrawal symptoms from not being able to vote for your favourite artist, European Tourism has just introduced a poll to vote for Europe's best crossover performer. europetourismboard.com/contest/crossover.htm11 of our featured artists are listed amongst the 24 names currently listed. You can vote for each of your favourites every two hours. No need to register.

Interesting! I wonder where that list came from! Mix of majors and indies and people I have never heard of. I think I will go through that page! I voted for an artist that isn't even on this site, as I don't think she's crossover, but there you are. She's definitely my favourite though!

I wonder too! Interesting is, that Patricia Janeckova appears also in the list. My vote is 4th for her! Mario and Amaury have the most of votes currently.

I think I'll just vote the once. I don't understand why the poll exists, its purpose and what the outcome is. I don't know what the website is or why it has anything to do with these artists? It's also a very random selection. For UK, why pick Mariette and Russell Watson, but not Sarah Brightman and Katherine Jenkins? Why, from Italy, Vittorio Grigolo, but not Andrea Bocelli? I don't have a problem with it at all, I just can't see the logic behind it.

Yes, that's really unclear, what's behind the poll on that site.

Please request that Sarah Brightman be added to the list of female artists on Europe's Tourism Board. The creator of the site mentioned on Kenneth Heiber's radio program that he chose the artists. Unfortuantely, it is only for European artists. How Sarah Brightman got passed over is beyond my comprehension. He mentioned he would add artists according to fan requests.

The first artist to reach 100.000 votes is the winner. Voting has been copied from this site, once every two hours. If you want your favorite listed, you have to request that they be added.

What does the winner get?
Tarja Turunen is my favourite on there at the moment.

Nicola, During the radio program, Kenneth talked to Gilbur Orduz from the Europe Tourism Board. Gilbur mentioned that there would be trophies given at voting levels. They were not at frequent levels. The first was at 5,000 votes, the next at 20,000 votes and then only about 3 more levels until the final wiinning count of 100,000 votes. I assume the trophies are similar to what you gave the artists on your website but Gilbur never gave any specific details. Gilbur only chose 9 artists that I recognize. They are on your webiste. He chose Amaury Vasilli, Cortes, Mario Frangoulis, Micheal Castaldo, Vittorio Grigolo, Russell Watson, Filippa Giordano, Giorgia Fumanti, Mariette Davina, and Patricia Janeckova. I don't know who Tarja Turunen is but she is very popular. I have copied the notice that was sent to everyone who listened to the programs when Kenneth featured Mario and Micheal. He also mentioned Giorgia and Mariette were on the his program but I did not get the opportunity to listen to those broadcasts. As mentioned in the notice, you can still listen to the program. I am going to try and find the links to Giorgia and Mariette's interviews, I just haven't had the opportunity. I liked Mariette from the time you added her. It's great to see the three new artists you have added. ____________________________________________________________ Hello, You are receiving this email because you requested that BlogTalkRadio.com remind you when select shows are about to air. Tarja isn't actually a classical crossover artist - she resides in Symphonic Metal. She made a classical Christmas album once, but the rest of her stuff is heavy, dark rock. She used to be in a band called Nightwish (huge in Finland and across mainland Europe) before they publicly booted her out. Her solo stuff is a little more tame, but not by much. She has sold millions of albums (with Nightwish included) and is a household name in Finland. I was excited to see so many European artists that I hadn't come across before, but when I looked more into them, many of them are not, in my opinion, classical crossover artists. I don't quite understand the website. It seems to be about Tourism in Europe, and it has these awards stuck on? What is the website about and who is its audience? Sorry, I'm still trying to figure it out. XD I have loved watching Mario's fans get back on the voting wagon again! I can tell that they've missed it!

I just voted and noticed that it says Best Crossover Artist. I've never heard of the term 'crossover artist'. But I guess that opens the doors to a lot of artists like Tarja. One thing I do know, it is giving the Europe Tourism Board more exposure than it has ever had. Although I don't know if this is a brand new website or if it has existed for quite some time. But either way, it's getting a huge amount of hits and maybe that's what the owners wanted.

I found a promotional youtube video:
I added a comment to the video, currently it is waiting for uploader approval:
I miss more information about the voting. How were the artists selected? What's the purpose of the voting? What will be the voting result? Why does the voting appear on a tourism site? These questions had to be answered yet before the voting started.

Tarja Turunen received a silver trophy today for achieving 5000 votes. The voting just began on Feb.15th, so she has a great fan base. Mario will probably receive a trophy tomorrow as he is approaching 5000 votes. Micheal Castaldo, Amaury Vasilli, Patricia Kass are doing very well. Helmut Lotti and Vittorio Grigolo are doing well. Petra Berger and Girogia Fumanti have more votes than Mariette Davina. I had hoped Mariette's fans from this website would follow her but it does not appear they are doing so. I have no answers as to how or why this contest was begun on a tourism board. I wish I could you some answers but I have none.

I have one other comment on the Europe Tourism Board. I am sad to see that Patricia Janeckova and Sissel's fans are not following them to the website. Both of these artists were so very popular on this site. If their fans would start voting for them, Tarja Turunen would not be the first to achieve 5000 votes. I am not a member of FaceBook. If you are a fan of Sissel could you post a message on her page. I guess that's how it is done, I'm not quite sure how artist's FaceBook pages work. 'Bogi' has created a website for Patricia. Are you not in favor of Patricia getting votes on the Europe Tourism Board website? Does Sissel have a fan club elsewhere? Could someone who posts on her fan club site post a message and ask her fans to support her? These two ladies deserve to be in the the #1 and #2 places amongst the female performers.

pecanpraline, I miss a serious base of this voting. Therefore I don't plan to propagate it on my fan website.
