Sorry if this has been explained before, but does anyone know where/when Danny Boy was released? I understand that it was recorded for, but not included in DWM, and I know you can hear it on YouTube, but how did it get there? Was it leaked by a record company employee? Or was it officially released? All the best!

It was available as a bonus for those who purchased DWM on the official Jackie Evancho web site. I assume someone who obtained it that way decided to post it on YT.

Interesting! As a bonus on the CD, or as a digital upload?

It was an digital download. I purchased another copy of "Dream With Me" from the Evancho website just for the bonus track. Call me obsessive, but I think it was worth it. Once I purchased the CD from her official site, I was allowed to download the MP3 of "Danny Boy" to the same computer I had completed the purchase of the CD on. Sadly, I don't this special is still ongoing, as I found no current indication of it on the website store anymore.

Thanks! I wonder why they didn't put it on the disc. It seems to be of very high quality to me.

This is hearsay only-- from the "usually reliable source" sometimes mentioned on these forums and elsewhere: they did not seem to feel that Danny Boy was as strong a track as those that were eventually selected.

OK, thanks. Well, that's a good reason, if they thought that. All the best!

The DWM playlist was incredibly strong. Jackie's Danny Boy was excellent, but even if one considers the 18 track Target exclusive version, each of those 18 tracks were so spectacular that Danny Boy only came in at 19th. I know that I have never had an album or CD with more than 4 tracks I could listen to more than once. Actually, all three of her CDs are like that. Unbelievable.

I also purchased DWM CD on Jackie's website, even though I already ad the CD, I had to have Danny Boy. When I first heard Danny Boy, It was like - WOW! How did that not make the CD.

" Actually, all three of her CDs are like that" PTAD, OHN, DWM, and HC. I would say all four of her Cds are like that (taking licence with the fact that OHN does have only four tracks lol).

That may be true, but the big reason may have been her mother; she does not like the song, says it's too 'funereal'.
