I had a bit of a Beckathon on Facebook the other day - thought I would translate it here. I have been a fan of Becky for many years - since 2004, I think. She released one of my favouite albums 'By Your Side' (also known as Shine but the two editions have slightly differing tracklists). She was a child star and started her professional career at seven years old. I wasn't into her first album (which was released when she was.. 12? 13?) which was an album full of showtunes, but 'By Your Side' is truly beautiful and Becky's voice is like smooth chocolate. I don't how old she was when she recorded the songs on the album, 14, possibly 15, but she definitely didn't sound her age. She's 23 now and her voice is even better. <3 She finshed her studies and is now making her way back to music. She spent 2011 recording in the studio, many of the songs can be heard on her official site, including her version of Beyonce's Halo. None of her song choices seem to be typical (but then not much of 'By Your Side' was typical either!). Please take the time to discover her if you haven't already. <3 Here's her profile with links to her social networks: www.classical-crossover.co.uk/artprofiles/119-becky-jane-taylor.htmlAnd some youtube vids: This is from 'By Your Side' when she was younger. She recorded this a few weeks ago:

When I first started looking through the artists on the CC site, I passed over Becky because I was looking for Hayley and All Angels sound-alikes. Later, I came to realize that actually I like many different qualities of voice and I found Becky's slightly lower range quite attractive, plus the track list from 'By Your Side' also offered something new.
As Nicola says, Becky's voice is better than ever now and I am looking forward to hearing more from her. I would definitely make the effort to see her perform live if I ever get the chance.

Becky posted that she will be singing the Welsh national anthem and God Save the Queen at Twickenham in February. Apparently she was having trouble with her Welsh. I checked the website and England will be playing Wales at Twickenham Stadium on 25th February as part of the Six Nations Rugby tournament.

If you haven't been won over by Becky's voice yet, try listening to this.

Becky is getting in on the Diamond Jubilee action by uploading a new song on YouTube. 'I Vow to Thee My Country' is the same as she sang in the interval at Twickenham in February.
