Well, it looks as though the classical crossover website is finished. I am sorely disappointed!
The insane decision to eliminate interaction with the site, especially voting and comments that had made us feel in a special way part of the artists themselves has got to be the dumbest move Adam and Nicola could have made. Although the decision to cripple the site may save time and energy for Adam and Nicola, those of us who have supported the Classical Crossover site since its inception now feel cheated and abandoned. The site they began and developed and grew the past two years alone garnered more interest and community interaction than any other site on the web. By taking away most of what made the Classical Crossover site special, it now is just another typical website. I hope they can find someone soon who can restore the popular site back to it’s former glory. It will be a shame if we completely lose the one place aspiring and committed artists in the Classical-Crossover genre has to properly shine.

I just realized I can not , what everyone would say vote for free if you are a member of this forum , but you would have to spend over 5 lb uk just for one vote , now how could anyone resort to that idea , especially if we had as many votes for Jackie this comming year as we did last year? I guess they are using that to pay for the website , ouch , instead why don't you charge say 20.00 usd for each year and it would do the same thing , forcing members to shell out money for someone to be recognized , THAT IS WRONG BY ANY STANDARD ! Just using Jackie's voting score in 2011 it would cost her followers over 21,000.00 lbs to match , so , it would be cheaper to for followers to buy access to the website , than vote for there artist on here. I am very dissapointed on where this forum is going. Robert

Voting has stopped, rob. The trophies are just there for anyone who wants to support an artist whilst they are donating at the same time. It's an entirely optional feature.
I repeat, VOTING HAS STOPPED. No more voting. The trophies should not be considered as an alternative.

I supported the website financially last year and really tried to make other people aware of the fact that help was needed. I know the voting became a fan base frenzy at times, especially the top ten artists but I have to say, I do miss it. I will log in probably one or twice a week to keep up on new albums being released and artists new videos but this will be on Forum. I see no reason to visit the artist's profile pages anymore. I'm not on FaceBook, after a breach of privacy issue, so I was not able to read your comments Nicola. I realize it has to be this way but it has just taken the competiitive edge off the website.

It was announced enough early what will happen. The reasons for the change were published enough clearly. Nobody bought the site and nobody came with a suggestion, how to do it otherwise. I don't understand why some of you only now noticed the changes.
When I understood what will happen I found my own position to the planned changes and based on my previous forum posts I created Patricia Janeckova Fan Site, see my signature. All of you could also understand the changes, or you could ask about the changes on the old forum, you could bring a suggestion and discuss it with Nicola and Adam.

Why can't people appreciate a thing of beauty that is absolutely free? If you are not happy here, go somewhere else. As many times as Nicola has stated she and Adam do this out of love for Classical-crossover, and not for money, and has provided us with much appreciated cultural diversity. I find these complaints particularly galling.

Thanks for the support guys! I had a little rant on facebook, but I'll leave it at that now. Don't really want to waste my time with negativity.

Bonnie, my reply on facebook was a too long justification and explanation of why the site was downgraded. I think you understand already, so you're not missing much. I can copy and paste it over if you like, but I thought it would be available for you to view since it wasn't a private page (did you at least try to view it?)
