Saara Aalto spreads some Christmas cheer in a less than festive X Factor semi-finalWhile Saara Aalto was the star of the night, the other acts appeared to be channeling the spirit of Scrooge.Priya Joshi By Priya Joshi December 3, 2016 22:09 GMT Read more www.ibtimes.co.uk/saara-aalto-spreads-some-christmas-cheer-less-festive-x-factor-semi-final-1594726---- The X Factor 2016 week 9: Underdog Saara Aalto now favourite to win after spectacular semi-final performancesBy Isabel Mohan 4 DECEMBER 2016 • 11:31AM The fabulous Saara Aalto has been getting better and better every week, which is surely What This Show Is All About. Nobody liked her at all to start with, but now she's a national treasure and she's not even from round here. The Finnish singer, from Sharon Osbourne's oldies category (although she's only 29), had one of her best nights ever, with the perfect combination of OTT, cheesy, camp fun (her White Christmas/All I Want For Christmas Is You combo) and dead serious belty-outy brilliance (Sia's Chandelier - the very song she sang at her first audition, but not nearly as beautifully as this). Incredibly, she's now favourite to win the whole show. YES! We would absolutely love this to happen. It would be the perfect... finnish. X Factor Results: Emily Middlemas OUT as Saara Aalto named favourite to win?!4TH DECEMBER 2016 BY Lynn Rowlands ...However, as time has gone on, Saara has sailed through to the next stages week after week, and deservedly so. Her performances have often been absolutely breathtaking, despite the fact that at times, it seemed the show’s wardrobe and stage-production teams were making a laughing stock of her. And that’s because she was ‘subjected’ to increasingly bizarre costumes, wigs, make-up and choreography. Even head judge Simon Cowell at one point warned Saara that she mustn’t allow the show’s backstage team to make her their “puppet”. But regardless of those issues, as mentioned, X Factor fans have loved Saara’s performances and her seemingly flawless rendition of each and every song she sings… Read more www.unrealitytv.co.uk/x-factor/x-factor-results-emily-middlemas-out-as-saara-aalto-named-favourite-to-win/---- Saara Aalto tipped to win The X Factor following ‘sensational’ performance of Sia’s ChandelierAdam Starkey for Metro.co.uk Sunday 4 Dec 2016 10:43 am The 29-year-old Finnish singer blew the judges away on last night’s X Factor semi-final (December 4), which saw the contestants tackle Christmas classics, with Saara belting out Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You. It was a stirring cover of Sia’s Chandelier, however, which floored the judges, a song she previously sung in her first audition, leaving Sharon Osbourne without words during her judges’ critique. Nicole Scherzinger managed to string a compliment together, saying: ‘Baby girl. This is the song that you sung that blew me away and it’s the reason I asked you to be Mrs O’s wild card. News Eurovision National Finals Saara Aalto through to the X-Factor finalAshleigh Kobevko / 4th December 2016 at 21:30 / Et cetera / Finland, United Kingdom Saara Aalto has made it through to the X-Factor final. When Saara first auditioned for the UK X-Factor, it seemed impossible to imagine that she would get through to the judges houses let alone the final. If Saara wins, she will be the first foreigner to win the X-Factor UK. Saara Aalto must feel like all of her Christmases have come at once. After two impeccable performances in Christmas week on the X-Factor UK, she has secured herself a place in the final. The final will be screened live on ITV from Wembley Arena in London and will see Saara perform a special duet. Finalists in the competition have always duetted with another famous singer. These duets have often been a crucial part of the final as usually the best duet has often featured the contestant who has then gone on to win the show. The singer who Saara will be dueting with has yet to be announced. However, past singers gracing the stage with contestants in the past have included Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran and Rhianna. It has been reported that Ed Sheeran has written the winner’s single this year. Read more www.eurovisionary.com/saara-aalto-x-factor-final/--- The X Factor

X Factor 2016 semi-final results: Emily Middlemas voted off and Saara Aalto still favourite to beat Matt Terry and 5 After Midnight in final By Isabel Mohan 4 DECEMBER 2016 • 9:35PM Saara's comeback is what this show is all aboutNormally, X Factor is awfully predictable. But, in those early weeks, when Saara Aalto seemed strange and twee and a little irritating, we never thought she'd end up in the final and we never thought we'd be desperate for her to win. We now realise it was the X Factor producers, with their calculated segments about Frozen and snow fairies, who made Saara look annoying, and that she's actually quite cool.
