Jackie's voice has so much charm and nuance perfect for a childrens' album. There were quite a few comparisons with Judith Durham on the old Proboards Forum too. If ever Jackie comes to Oz she would bring the house down with any Seekers song if she sings one.

Our chromosomes, and only our chromosomes determine our 'sex'. XY (male) and XX (female). Until science discovers a way to transplant chromosomes to make an XY an XX and vice versa, so called transgenderism remains as it was always diagnosed until the psychiatric and judicial professions lost not only their integrity but their ever lovin' minds...... a "Gender identity disorder". People afflicted with that disorder who in their minds believe they are the opposite sex are delusional. There is no such thing as transgenderism unless you also believe in the existence of Big Foot and men from Mars which I have no doubt BG believes in fervently, especially when inhaling his favorite form of recreational drug.
The difference between this "loving old soul" and the Beachguy is that I have no doubt BG would be among the thugs bullying and mocking poor Jacob on the playground. I would not.
I have nothing but compassion for Jacob and his family's dilemma over it. It is a tragedy. Whatever statements I've made about it here or elsewhere were made in that context and from that perspective of deep concern. Unlike BG, I've never disparaged Jackie or her family. Never have. Never would.

Are you over here to join "the Peeps" this morning? Sorry. But it's a drug free zone and a place reserved for Jackie fans. And I think the readers here can judge quite easily whose mind is fading and twisted after trying to read your dog droppings Or as some one called them: "stream of consciousness". Love euphemisms. But I suggest more accurately described as .... mental diarrhea.
Here's BG just a few days ago on his favorite "recreational" drug of choice. Although I'm sure he'll plead ..... "for medicinal purposes only". Yeah. Where and when have we heard than one over the last few centuries since that cliche and excuse was first proclaimed?
Quote the Beachguy: "Sunday blessing in the future will the a Plant , call it weed , grass , pot but it will be the most beneficiary to millions of sufferers of illness in the world , it will be seen as a Wonderful Flower of God . So. Let's get back to what this forum is supposed to be about and away from "flame throwing" .... shall we?
I'm lovin' what Jackie's doing with this new concert tour. Eclectic set list which is truly "crossover". Up front and personal with her audience like never before. It's always been her strength whether playing to 5000 or 100,000. But now, just her inimitable voice, and presence with one musician and a fairly small audience. Super interesting change.
What's the purpose of a concert tour? I think it depends on the artist's goal. Is Jackie's quite modest for this coming year? Smaller venues and audiences than ever before. Introduction of only a few new songs with each concert. Is she experimenting? Feeling out her market for acceptance of the new material? What about trying to attract a younger audience? Is she? Or isn't she? Or is it about just pleasing her core fan base? Making people who know her already, happy with what makes her happy? Don't know for sure. She has to be more loose an use the stage for her personality , smaller because that is all she can sell at the present time , not a choice of a 3,000 seat hall , be truthful , she needs to be more a entertainer then just a singer , she must check out a Ariana Grande on how to perform a lively event without the too much sex appeal which will come in later years , I believe Miss Grande is a brat who has been seen spiting on donuts at a donut store but she knows how to entertain on stage without a real good voice an that is all that counts for fans & $$$$$$$$

I think there are elements of what you've said in her decision to go small(er) venue. But one of her efforts I liked best recently was her singing from an arm chair with just Nick Marzock on guitar doing Blank Spaces, a song I couldn't stand by Taylor Swift .... who wrote it and made a big hit with it.

Before we all go out and shoot ourselves (LOL) over the demise of Jackie's career because of the sadly low attendance at her Cleveland concert, let's put that in some context .... shall we?
October 8, within 1 block of where Jackie performed, she was competing against 5 live theatre events at other venues between 6:30 and 8PM. It was showtime, big time, in Playhouse Square that night. Going east up Euclid Street from the Ohio Theatre about 10 blocks a big name rock band was playing at the Agora. Within a 5 square block area are at least 100 restaurants and bars that are packed every Saturday night, many Cleveland sports fans (i.e. everybody that lives in Cleveland)probably celebrating the Indian's playoff sweep of the Red Sox the night before. Prospects of a world championship dazzling in their heads.
Yes, I have to agree with Ken Varn's (and BG's) analysis that the AGT effect has likely worn off except to her core fans. More about that later. Gotta fix breakfast. Excuses taken but it was only few hours drive from her home city an to hear this voice an one of great musical abilty then Good Lord where are the local people behind this artist they must be proud of or is there something of troubled waters in Pittsburgh ? , as i suggested could it be posssible her concerts will for surely be hurt as these are Blue Collar cities an transgender not a popular subject so the question is what impack will Lisa an her fight have on ticket sales an it will , book it and she had to know the outcome if a dummy as i know , point is read all the reviews that all 100% positive , that proves it has nothing to so wilth her performance an is not logical to pass up or miss her concerts so a Sherlock would say there is a under line problem on the minds of people , duh this girl should be on stage with full seats as again it is not logical not to fill a concert hall

This is quite a gay friendly city, in fact, having sponsored a week long event 2 years ago here called the Gay Games, 2014. The whole city proper was dominated by it; and they spent a whole lot of money while here. $$$$$$$$$$
I also think Lisa’s law-suit is known mainly to core fans and metro Pittsburg residents. I’m certain the general public here is completely unaware of it.
I think what I pointed out this morning contributed most to the disappointing audience size. Lots of very stiff, proximate competition. Besides the Playhouse Square area there are many other entertainment venues busy on any Saturday evening all across metro-Cleveland which is a vast, very complex and sophisticated market area. Jackie was competing with all of them for attention and dollars.
I also think, as you’ve observed many times here, the compelling lustre of the tiny 10 year old girl with the amazingly adult sized voice has worn thin to potential audiences. She’s now another teen singer to many including those who’ve seen her before; looking to spend quite a lot of hard-earned or scarce dollars (retiree) on a fairly expensive seat to hear someone and something unique.
But I’m one that’s not worried in the least about Jackie’s future as a singer or anything else. Unless something catastrophic happens to her golden voice and personality and intelligence and drive and great heart …. I have no doubt she will succeed at whatever the future has in store for her. First and most important priority at this stage of the game is to be a loving daughter and a happy kid. The rest will take care of itself. Que sera .. sera.

You seem to know her heart an mind , i would never assume anything coming out of todays' society as many artists from great so called families have fallen , take a Marcia Brady became a drug addict , many many young girls seems as they will be angels always but just check the history books of show-biz people , no one has a insight into Jackie an her adult life , you sure are full of it , i mean wonderful guesses about her , i will not guess , let us see in time

But wouldn't you like see one on her face ... as often as possible for as long as possible? I can't and won't believe you wouldn't.

I see the same thing you do and am sickened by it. We come from an era and culture that CAN'T and WILL NOT approve of it. Not a prude. We all sow our oats in many different and sometimes dangerous ways. God knows I did. But my wife and I raised our boys to be gentlemen and to love and to have good judgement. So far so very good. Proud of them. I wish every parent the same blessings we've had. I've seen enough of life the hard way to know well and sadly that that's not possible. But it doesn't and can't stop me from wishing it.
