Companion article: thetvpage.com/2016/08/18/americas-got-talent-christmas-special/Ho! Ho! Ho! AMERICA’S GOT TALENT will tape its first-ever Christmas special on Monday, August 22 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. No broadcast date has been announced and it remains unclear if Santa will consider Simon Cowell to be naughty or nice. We can tell you that some of the show’s most successful and recognizable acts will be on hand, including season two champ Terry Fator (ventriloquist) and season five runner-up Jackie Evancho (classical crossover singer). Also on the bill: Penn & Teller, Professor Splash, Mat Franco, Piff The Magic Dragon, Arco Army and The Regurgitator. A limited number of tickets can be reserved here. AMERICA’S GOT TALENT is currently in its 11th season on NBC and remains the network’s top rated summer series. AGT was recently renewed for a 12th season, which will air in 2017.

I'm suprised, that we didn't get any information from Jackie about her trip to L.A. She usually posts fotos on Instagram, when she is on the road.

Charles Hoff, aka Trancas, is a longtime Los Angeles area Jackie fan, glad he could make it. I had a family emergency and could not attend AGT yesterday; hopefully next time.

A post from 'johnshima' at Rick Olsen's fan site:
I attended the AGT taping today. Jackie sang Stevie Wonder's "Someday At Christmas" dress all in white on a pedestal with six strings playing and six ballerinas dancing in the back ground and received a standing ovation. Nick Cannon also announced " Jackie's "Someday At Christmas" holiday album is available now", so there should be a holiday album released by the time this airs.
The AGT producers certainly played up the angelic and classical parts of Jackie's original AGT imagine and this crowd loved it. She received one of only two natural standing ovations - the other one was for the combined performance of dance group Silhouettes and Sons of Serendip classical quartet. Of course it was an AGT crowd and that is what they remember about Jackie. I hope Jackie and her team realize that is were she got her start and, if this audience is an indication, she still has an audience for that kind of music. I doubt the crowd would have the same reaction if she tried a Pop cover of Taylor Swift or 21 Pilots.
The taping was clearly only part of what the final show will be. The winner of AGT this season will have two performances added. Also taped segments for Andra Day, Pentatonix, Olate Dogs and Linkin Bridge will be added later from the announcements Nick Cannon made. Interesting as I don't know what Andra Day and Pentatonix have to do with AGT? Linkin Bridge is interesting as they appear tomorrow 8/23 and haven't even been voted into the semifinals yet. Makes you wonder about the voting?
The funniest part of the whole night was when the 'magic' act - Piff The Dragon had to re-do his disappearing /appearing dog act because of technical problems. They bring out the 'empty' cage but the poor dog wasn't happy about the re-do and starts barking his head off from the 'secret' compartment at the back of the 'empty' cage giving up the whole trick! Piff had to come out to try to calm the dog down in the 'now not so hidden' compartment -too funny - the whole crowd was roaring!

Here's the picture that I was talking about: David Foster was also there with family watching the show, and left the audience just before Jackie's performance - perhaps for a visit backstage. Picture thanks to jackbuckeye:
