Tim Duncan and Chris Paul both were standout basketball player at Wake Forest University, not at the same time, more like 10 years apart. But now they are trying to beat other up at the NBA Playoffs. Former Wake Forest coach Dave Odom sees a lot of similarities in the ways of Chris Paul and Tim Duncan. ""From the standpoint of being great players and very professional and extremely dedicated to the game, they are one in the same, definitely," said former Wake Forest coach Dave Odom . "I know first hand that Tim is driven. And I always say that one of my biggest disappointments is that I never had the chance to coach Chris Paul.
But this much is also clear: In addition to playing at the same university, Paul and Duncan are clearly cut from the same cloth. Both raised under similar traditional family values.
Tim is the way he is because of his family. His mother had a tremendous influence on him as a kid and his dad gave him a father's love. Tim mostly grew up around women, with aunts and sisters, and they had a positive affect on his personality and taught him about respect. His values are different than most athletes because of where he came from and what he was taught early on.
The only other star player who really had a structure like that was Chris. His virtues and his love for family are just like Tim's. Chris was very close to his grandfather, his mother and his father. When his grandfather died, it was absolutely devastating to Chris, who dedicated his very next high school game to his memory and scored the exact amount of points as his grandfather's age. With Chris, you just talked to his parents and his coach.""
No bozos who know nuttin' about roundball could call my L.A. boy Chris Paul a non-winner. And the BB experts agree with me!

they lost because the dunker was 1 for 9 in last quarter , I could make 2 I told u he melts under pressure The only 2 U can make is dropping 2 eggs into a pot of water for hardboiled eggs. YES………… SCORE !!!!!
Griffin 1 for 9?? Which video did U watch, tapes from his brother’s old Junior High games??? Oh puh-leeze, get your facts straight before talking roundballs. Griffin absolutely did make his hook shot with 6 seconds left in the game, but for the ref to call goaltending on Jordan, he would have been the hero of Game 5. Even Spurs’ Ginobili admitted at the post game interview that they got lucky. Griffin melting? ………. I think not. My Clippers homies Griffin and Paul absolutely played their hearts out in Game 5. The statistics tell the tale: Griffin: 30 pts - 14 rebounds - 7 assists - 4 steals - 1 block shot in 41 minutes Paul: 19 pts - 5 rebounds -10 assists - 2 steals - NO turnover in 40 minutes
Clippers starting 5 scored 90 points, and spanked Spurs’ 63 points handily, again. But before playoffs started, I had said Clippers X-factor Jamal Crawford must step up and perform to his 6th Man level. Yet Crawford so far has not done so in this series. I chalk it up to his not fully recovered from his injuries. As a result Spurs’ formidable bench players outscored Clips’ 48 to 17, a gap too huge even for Griffin and Paul to cover, no matter how hard they had played!
At the post game interview, Griffin didn’t make any excuse, just said would be ready for game 6. But I put it squarely on Skyhawk, bcos he used his god status to coerce the Basketball God into causing that goal-tending call.
It will be a steep climb for the Clips, bcos statistically the team winning Game 5 and up 3-2 would have 75% chance of taking the series. Meaning Clippers only have 25% chance of coming back from behind. Yet if any team could do it, Clippers could too ! Doc Rivers and Blake Griffin talked about the Game 5 loss to the Spurs. www.nba.com/2015/news/04/29/clippers-coach-rivers-fined-for-criticism-of-refs/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpts
If Spurs do end up winning the series, Golden State Warriors would definitely sigh a big relief. They rather face Spurs in the Conference Finals bcos they remember losing to the Clips in last year’s playoffs, OUCH!
Game 6 tonight in San Antonio.
YES!!! In Game 6 on Thursday, Clippers came back from 10 points behind, really ground it out, and beat the Spurs 102-96. To be fair and balance, Spurs’ X-Factor guy Leonard only had a so-so game, shooting 3 of 15 with just 12 points, and did not play up to his NBA Finals MVP pedigree. But Clippers’ X-Factor Crawford did not quite deliver either. It was Paul & Griffin who, as usual, played a good game that helped Clippers to get this desperate W. And of course another reason is the Basketball God knew that he did an injustice in Game 5 listening to Skyhawk. He won't make the same mistake again !
Now series all tie up at 3-3. Game 7 back at L.A. on Saturday. Let the gun fight at the Staples Corral begin.
Most sports pundits favored the Spurs to win. Guess who picked the Clippers? The Master did. Guess who said both teams were evenly matched, that after 6 games would be a 3-3 tie? The Master did. Guess who said Clippers were the dark horse, and would win Game 7 because of home court advantage? The Master did.
And Clippers will take Game 7 to night, sending Spurs off to an early fishing trip.
Who’s the real Master now?!

The bench won the game? Spurs' bench had 45 points, with Clips' bench at 15 points only. Like I said, Spurs lost bcos Leonard thinking too much about his fishing trip, and not playing to his Finals MVP pedigree. U R still living in your Bizarro World!

This is it…… NBA Playoffs start today, yay!
Most pundits predict Warriors and Spurs will go all the way to the WC finals. I agree that Warriors is the best team in the West, bcos of the incredible shooting prowless of the Splash Brothers Curry and Thompson, and deserves a spot in WC finals. But I beg to differ on the Spurs and see my L.A. boys Clippers as the dark horse in the West. #3 seed Clippers will play #6 seed Spurs in the 1st round of playoffs. The 2 teams had met 4 times during regular season, and split the series 2-2, evenly matched. Spurs ended the regular season winning 21 out of their last 25 games, while Clippers ended with a 14 to 1 run. Both teams are peaking at the right time. Yet in a best of 7 playoff series, the young guns will outlast the venerable old gun slingers. Clippers will prevail because their starting 5 will trump Spurs’s starting 5 in a head to head match up:- Point Guard: Chris Paul vs Tony Parker, advantage Clippers Shooting Guard: JJ Redick vs Danny Green, adv Clippers Small Forward: Matt Barnes vs Kawhi Leonard, BIG adv Spurs Power Forward: Blake Griffin vs Tim Duncan, adv Clippers Center: DeAndre Jordon vs Tiago Splitter, BIG adv Clippers Spurs strength is in their bench, one of the best in the league, and of course in Coach Pop’s almost flawless play system. But Coach Rivers is no slouch either, and this season’s new Clippers bench players of Hawes, Davis and Turkoglu are fitting in better and better towards season end and starting to pay dividends. Mid season acquiring of Doc’s son Austin Rivers is a big boost to the bench too, as he plays well under his dad, and definitely takes a load off of Chris Paul as his backup pointguard. X-FACTOR: For Spurs is Leonard, who gets better each and every season….. whether he will put in outstanding performance as he did in last season’s playoffs, which won him the Playoffs MVP Award? For Clippers the X-Factor is Crawford, winner of 2 previous 6th Man Awards….. whether he has recovered completely from his recent injury, and returns to his previous 6th Man level of play? If things go well for both teams, this is really a dead heat, as shown by regular season results. But Clippers have a final trump card, which will tip the scale in their favor – HOME COURT ADVANTAGE!!!! Clippers will send the mighty Spurs off to fishing , at game 7 at home in L.A. First game of Gunfight at Staples Corral starts this Sunday! My prediction for WC champion: 1st choice Golden State Warriors, dark horse my L.A. boys DaClippers. For EC champion: 1st choice Cleveland Cavaliers, dark horse Chicago Bulls. (Edited on 4/18 @ 9pm ET: Earlier today didn't have time to explain for EC prediction. Here's why for my EC choices - Cavaliers have the best BB player on this planet in King James + former Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving is in top form. Even though losing Starting Center in Varejao due to injury, but mid-season acquiring of Tim Mozgov, the 7 foot true Center who's strong enough to bang with anyone, is a big plus. That the big Russian had played under Cavaliers Coach Blatt while Blatt was coaching in the Russian League explained why big Mozgov fitted in with the Cavaliers almost from day one! Now for the Bulls - They finally have their MVP Derrick Rose back in uniform, and Pau Gasol seems to be rejuvenated after being traded to the Bulls by the Lakers, and got his "POW" back. And of course rest of the Bulls bunch is always a tough crowd to deal with under the guidance of Coach Thibodeau.... no surprise there!) My prediction for NBA champion: 1st choice Cavaliers, dark horse DaClippers. May the best team win. I no nothing as I don't watch till well into playoffs but Calvaliers will fall an Bulls r a Joke so for now knowing I 'll take Warriors & last years winners with Warriors Champ . BTW Did u get a week end pass from the old folks home ? U must have known by now, that your last year’s winners Spurs were clipped by my L.A. boyz DaClippers 111 to 109 at Game 7, and had since gone fishing, just as the Master had predicted. And your so called “non-winner” Clipper Point-guard Chris Paul, inspite of a hamstring injury in the 1st quarter which put him in the locker room for treatment for a whole quarter, was able to come back and drove to the hoop for the final winning bank shot with 1 second left in the game, thus clinching the series. The L.A. Clippers Bank was definitely opened at that moment! Blake Griffin notched his 2nd triple double of the playoff series, an outstanding feat too. I don’t see him melting as U had so adamantly predicted. Critics had described this Clippers-Spurs playoff series as “ONE FOR THE AGES”! Who is the real Master now?!
And U called yourself Nostra? Nostradamus must be rolling over in his grave now, HeHe!!!
