A month ago I announced the charity concert of Wiener Hilfswerk in Vienna. classicalcrossover.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=pjaneckova&thread=78&post=1501Patricia will perform tomorrow in Theater an der Wien with classical and jazz artists, which are well known in Austria. According to Slovak press (hudba.sk) Patricia will sing 2 arias, the 1st from Puccini and the 2nd from Rossini. So it seems Patricia will sing 'O mio babbino caro' and 'La pastorella delle Alpi'. This event will be specific for Patricia, because she will be an unknown new artist for the most of spectators. It is her 1st public performance outside of Slovakia and Czech Republic.

As I annnounced some weeks ago Patricia performed one week ago in Vienna on an important benefitial event "Starry Night - Classic & Jazz". Other singers of the classical part were from The State Opera in Vienna. Patricia sang without a microphone as it is used in opera. Some photos and one concert review from an renowned opera reviewer are available. She performed 'O mio babbino caro' and 'La Pastorella delle Alpi', each piece in a different dress: Patricia performed 1st time in front of wider audience outside of Slovakia and Czech Republic. 1st time since Talentmania 2010 she performed in front of audience which didn't know her. Austria is a conservative country with strong classical and opera tradition, CC genre is not established here. Patricia performed here as opera talent. Patricia's father never presented her as CC singer and he attempts to manage her to perform on classical events. Opera reviewer Pavel Unger, who wrote the first opera related review of her debut album, reviewed the whole concert. According to him the audience feedback wasn't so warm as Patricia is used to get in Slovakia and Czech Republic. According to Pavel Unger Patricia's 'O mio babbino caro' showed her shortcomings and wasn't much interersting for the purely classically tuned audience. 'La Pastorella delle Alpi' sounded better according to him. Pavel Unger wrote that this performance in front of audience, which didn't knew her and alongside of real opera singers, showed her 'sprinkles of truth' who she is. To be sincere, I don't like when a 13 years old young lady is compared with real opera singers and reviewed from point of view of opera genre. Patricia is maturing at all, not only her voice. She didn't study opera, didn't went through operatic vocal training, which can be done only on adult voice. It is nice that she sang on an important benefitial event. That's clear. But on other side, we would like to see her more to sing for her ordinary, not opera related audience, for people, who bought her debut album and who like her youtube videos. Her father prefers more classical type of performances. Patricia performs also on non classical type of events, but her father doesn't consider them as so important and they don't inform or inform too late about that events on Patricias' official facebook. Patricia is managed by people who come purely from the world of classical music. They don't seem to have understanding for fans and popularity aspects. Opera related critics repeatedly criticize Patricia's singing as not on the level expected in the world of classical music/opera, but people around Patricia still hold their classical point of view and don't recognize her real, non opera based audience. Patricia's further schedule in this calendar year is still not known. There were some articles in Czech press (not confirmed, but not refused by people around Patricia), that Patricia will perform with pop singer Karel Gott later in this year.

All the same, I'm sure the experience was valuable. The Opera community seems to have an ingrained habit of hiding new talent under an bushel basket.

Why someone would go through all that training to make their singing sound so bad. ;D

Patricia performed on Friday 1 June on Zlin Film Festival of films for children and youth with Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic Orchestra in Zlin, Czech Republic. She sang a soundtrack from a story for children 'Mala morska vila' (Small sea nymph), music by Czech film composer Zdenek Liska.
I found Patricia's voice developed in the lower register, her lowest notes are no more so weak than at the time of Talentmania 2010.

Patricia said that all young people who have talent deserve to have chance to be found and supported. Then the moderator mentioned Patricia's gold album in Slovakia/Czech Republic and asked her hor plans in future. Patricia answered she plans to study on conservatory, then on university (she hopes abroad) and then she will see what is possible.
