Any one being a fan of Jackie should know she like pop , rock , she does not have CC music on her head phones , she just told you on interview what she prefers , soon people will need to accept things they can not change as if Jackie herself changes her music in time

It seems this site is a place or topic is mostly for people to read but not post thoughts or opinions . I have no idea why .I guess I could talk to myself or Jackie , that way I stay out of trouble , I guess talk forums are no longer popular from what I can see , sad as they are a outlet for fans but the people have spoken , perhaps they never will , May 7th "Awakening" was announced , ""A"" day is here

Panic attack by Sony , I wonder how Jackie saying she was last listening to a Rock Duet went over with them as Jackie coming out with a CC type album ? its of course her private choice and her right and 14 ,BUT she may get a talking to when promoting albums . Jackie has been very careful to speak on interviews as you can see how she pauses at times , I believe this goes back even when she was 9 years old she always looked at her mother before answering some questions , I never heard of Black Keys but they are from next state to Jackie in Ohio , they are Buckeyes , lots of Grammy awards so I guess they are very good or popular .So the Question will arrive WHEN they play a Duet ?? if they hear her comment ?? NOSTRA says it will happen in time

Talk forums are still popular, Beachguy. However, this one is not where the main traffic is. You know where that is. But if you go there, you must behave yourself! Hi ben , thanks, I like the International Class part of this forum , if you mean jefc is main traffic , I really don't have a care to go there as it has nothing for me interesting like here as I have a Twitter relations with some Artist here , I finished my topics for Jackie there as too many ott persons there for me . The admin here is a real fair person with a name , I never went to a forum other then JEFC so I'm still learning of others sites , now ben when did you know me to mis-behave ? , don't forget your Flu shot if you believe in it ben , stay Well

A research here on Jackie Topic , it started on Dec.9 by unclemike of 2011 , since then its being just almost completely two members creating posts , even when a cas 3 and Murph2r created a post there were no replies to them ? sylvester88 and kari have been the whole show here , that's very odd indeed , I see where kari could make a fine PR director but know nothing of his personality or reason for being here , maybe just a big fan , I think the membership is 400 or so here but a very , very quite forum so I guess seeing me will take some time to understand this strange Beachguy

Moles ? The moles or whatever on the neck of Jackie reminds me when I was in late grade school I had a black mole right in the middle of my eyes , one student called me 3 eyes , well after others saw his black eye I gave him ( * - ""), there were no more 3 eyes comments , The Very Clear Moles Seen Today On Jackie Are Very Bright as To Say "" We Are Proud To Be Here , The Soft Warm Vibrations Of Celebrating Grand Vocal Cores Echo Joy Sounding Up Pass Us To Willing Open Ears Of Stunning Wondrous Voice , Our Jackie , So We Are Hoping To Stay HEALTHY & HAPPY Huh?? But then HEALTHY & HAPPY is always cool!
May be off topic and too personal with this one - But, Beachguy, are you in the age group of needing reading glasses? If so, shouldn't you update your profile to "5 eyes" ? Just sayin, no offence.

My idea before this album was why not use Jackie's twitter account as a barometer for her next album like send out a questionnaire to her K number of fans . What type of music do you prefer Jackie sing on Album then give say 6 answers that the team knows she could sing , 1-CC , 2- mild -pop ,3 pop-country , 4 etc. ,5 etc . , 6 etc. , replies would be just the number so this way sony could note the winning number , take the winner number for what its worth . Ask the buyers ?, I would have not voted last album of old love songs or this one , my pick would be either 2 or 3 but what do I know .

I'm going to be the first to regretfully light the fuse. Jackie's new album is an awakening to a mistake. Except for Think of Me the choice of songs is painfully tedious, passionless, new-age dirge. I am a loving Jackie fan and I could see this coming after the song list was released. She needs to hook up again and soon with David Foster who brought the best out of her. I hope she does not perform the songs from this album during her upcoming concerts. This music will lull her audience to sleep or worse; cause them to turn their backs on one of the world's best and most promising vocal talents. Her voice is one of the best in the business. The choice and mix of songs for this album whether by Jackie or her handlers was just wrong and hopefully not a fatal mistake for her career. Team- Jackie needs to make a course correction soon. It's a brutally unforgiving business.

Hi cas3 , I agree with your thoughts , the fuse was light if members have the courage to speak if its helpful to the people in charge , the up and coming tour will be a reply to this album , I called it dark for a teen . I don't think Mr. Foster will come back till she is older .If this album is not accepted very good then I think Jackie will take long time off and come back with a make over at 16 year old , BTW cas3 I have been waiting for someone to post his opinion even if not popular , you are what is needed on forums IMO, negatively can be a good at times . I like the end to Think of me & the wild west theme is very good .

Well Beachguy, it looks like I ignited an explosion of cricket sounds with my comment. But lest those reading it think I'm just another troll or "Jackie hater" consider some of the other comments I've offered about Jackie on Youtube and Facebook. Most recently: "Right now I'm singing along with Jackie's rendition of What a Wonderful World through time worn vocal chords and "I'm thinking to myself" ..... what a wonderful gift it is to be able to sing this and all the songs you love as beautifully and as soulfully as they've ever been ... and then to be able to share that gift with people all around the world ..... as marvelously as Jackie does." Or this: "Jackie finds the soul of every song she sings and always touches the heart of her audience with what she discovers there." That's why many will tell you hearing Jackie sing moves them to tears of joy. I'm one of them. Or this: "Any priest would trade a 100 of his best sermons for one of Jackie's songs in its ability to soften hardened hearts."
There's something more about Jackie than an album that may or may not make her lots of money or propel or derail a promising singing career. Much more. David Foster said during her Las Vegas performance some years ago that he couldn't take credit for discovering her, "but when I discover someone new, it's not a special talent .... but when I look at it I think .... millions of people are going love this ..... and such is the case with our next performer (Jackie)".
" Love". I think, that's the key word in all this. This is an affair of the heart. I think many of us have come to love not only this young lady's music, but this young lady. We hear goodness from her. It touches our hearts like little else. We like her family. Jackie so generously shares their love for her with us, her audience. We love the purity in and of her voice. It's ethereal. It reaches and pleases the best part of us.
I selfishly want Jackie to succeed. To fulfill her dream. Her "impossible dream". I want her to keep sharing her wonderful dream with us for many years. My heart loves to be touched by Jackie's song like no other I've heard during my very long life.
Music is one those essentials to life, like wine and food. It can be prepared and enjoyed in a nearly infinite variety of ways. There is so much to choose from. May she choose better next time.

It's a brutally unforgiving business. I finally got the Awakening album from another Walmart store yesterday. After listening to it non stop with volume cranked up, two hours and half a bottle California red wine later, my take on the song choice is quite different from yours. Of the 12 tracks, I like 5 or 6 very much. The remaining ones are all OK. And I can assure you it is not the wine talking ! The album has more just couple good songs with fillers for the rest. IMO Jackie' team put a lot of thoughts in their song selections. I remember one of Jackie's parents said the album would have something for everybody, and I agree. There are classical songs, and then there are pop tunes in various tempos and rhythm arrangement. Nothing painfully tedious at all. Since Sony signed Jackie under the Masterworks label, Sony must have planned for Jackie to stay on the CC genre for a while. As long as under this MW label, don't think she will go all out Pop anytime soon!
If I am to rate Jackie's 3 non Christmas albums, I would rank DWM #1 of course, and Awakening would take 2nd place.
BTW to indicate the album's acceptance by the general public, I read elsewhere that Awakening's projected sales is around 21,000 units @ #7 position, while Kenny Chesney's album is #1 with projected sales of around 125,000 units. Just for comparison sake, because I don't know what those projected numbers mean, nor do I know whether those numbers could forecast the albums' eventual total sales?
On a side note, Barbra Streisand's new album "Partners" was #1 last week with 1st week's sales totalled about 200,000 units.

Question of taste probably. But if you listen to her rendition of "In the Arms of an Angel" or "Dream With Me" and others like them, they soar. They take you upwards. They lift. Most of the songs on her newest album to put it kindly .... drone. They go nowhere. I call them pseudo-soulful. Maybe a good bottle of Napa nectar would help my perspective as well. One of the qualities that distinguishes Jackie has been her unusual, impeccable taste in, and savvy choice of songs for one so young. I truly hope I'm wrong in my opinion of this latest album. But I frankly don't find it's to the level and standard she's achieved so far not because of the quality of her voice or performance which is at its usual height, but the lower quality of the songs themselves .... and I pray it doesn't hurt her. (2 exceptions, Think of Me and Ave Maria).
