I first came across Eurielle on facebook in early March this year, watched a couple of videos on Youtube and ended up downloading her EP 'The Incarnation' from Amazon. Those who know me well should realize the significance of this. Only something really special (or desperation ) will induce me to download music rather than wait for a real CD. Yesterday was a Bank Holiday. I live in England. Put two and two together and you may come to the inevitable conclusion that it was raining. Browsing the internet in the morning looking for something to do, I came across a notification from Eurielle that she would be performing that evening in Putney, just a short train ride from home. Stay at home and sort through the bomb site which is my living room, or go out and listen to live music - no contest. The Half Moon pub was putting on a day of varied music. Entering the room behind the bar, I found a ukulele ensemble just coming to the end of their act. After a short break, a girl with an acoustic guitar came to the stage together with a man with an electric guitar and another man sitting on a box, which turned out to be some sort of percussion instrument. They sang a pleasant selection of folk/pop songs with a Spanish feeling. Next up was Eurielle, who appeared seemingly out of nowhere wearing an amazing black dress with bright red flower overlays. She looked quite Spanish herself, but when she started to speak she couldn't have sounded more English. She accompanied herself on a keyboard to sing a selection of covers (I only know they were covers because she said so - they weren't familiar to me) and some of her own songs. I was spellbound, but all too soon her 30 minute set came to an end. However, this gave me the opportunity to spend a few minutes talking to her. Unknown to me, this was her first proper gig as Eurielle; a new direction for her as she has spent the past few years singing more traditional classical and songs from musicals. I was also able to buy a copy of her self-titled CD, not yet released and I believe only available at live performances at present. 14 beautiful songs all co-written by Eurielle herself - I have been listening all evening. Oh, probably the least said the better about the following three acts - not my type of music at all, but I was glad I waited for the very enjoyable 'Last of the Barstools', after which I went home.

Eurielle has today released an acoustic version of her song 'Carry Me'. An interesting contrast with the mini-film I posted earlier in this thread.
It is due for release as a music single next week, 28th June.

I like her. I like the song. I like her singing the song and look forward to hearing more.
But I prefer the short story version that you posted May 27. I wonder if a guitar would have been better then the piano?
Keep up the great work!

Yes, I also prefer the short story version and that is what I believe you will hear on the upcoming single. I haven't done a detailed comparison with the track on Eurielle's CD but they sound substantially the same to me. But I also like the acoustic version as a reminder of what I have experienced at two concerts now, and would happily go back for more.

Eurielle has updated both versions of 'Carry Me' Hello, John!
After listening to and watching her video of "Carry Me", eurielle.com/video , I concluded that I would like to hear her without the autotune.
By the way, did you know that the videos you posted on the above thread are no longer there? I would have liked to compare her acoustic version of "Carry Me" with the the one I viewed to see if she used anything to alter her voice. Ben, I don't think you will find Eurielle's voice unaltered even in the Live Acoustic video. Having heard her sing live and close up, I don't think she needs autotune to correct her pitch, but the reverb effects suit this song in my opinion. You can find more on Eurielle's YouTube channel www.youtube.com/channel/UC1ZF5ec3gimpEdaYUSqV4KA

Thanks for the videos, John.
My comment about the autotune had more to do with adding to Eurielle's voice than correcting her pitch. As examples, I am thinking of the singers Madonna and Cher who used quite a bit of autotune in past albums in order to create a certain effect in vocals. I heard some autotune on one of Eurielle's videos and wondered if she used it for the same reason.

I have managed to generally ignore the mainstream pop scene for about 40 years. Wuthering Heights couldn't be ignored, but I would struggle to say anything else about Kate Bush. Keedie is a singer of two distinct voices. I find her pop voice a bit light and fluffy, but it can grow on you. Her classical voice is great. Hopefully she will succeed in making her long overdue comeback.
