Thanks Inga It's not quite what I would have hoped for in a new Hayley album but if anyone can make 'Twinkle twinkle little star' sound good then it is Hayley

I dont know what I should think of that album. Lullabies,I hoped for more original songs of her.

This is a very unusual concept! Perhaps no classical crossover artist has done this and Hayley decided it was time someone did. If marketed correctly, it could prove to bring Hayley a brand new audience of listeners, all baby oriented in some way.

The decision was made by Decca. Hayley twittered: To introduce the album..... Decca offered me the opportunity to work on a 'lullaby' record with them.
It is the album for the birth of the royal baby.

Decca's timing is perfect. The royal birth will have special meaning to all mothers of babies and what better to purchase than Hayley's lovely voice singing these lullaby's with slightly new arrangements and maybe a bit of a more contemporary sound. All of you might just find yourselves singing along! Don't laugh, babies bring out the best in people!

The world premier of the track Sleep On, (written by Paul Mealor who also wrote The Military Wives track Wherever You Are & composed for the Royal Wedding) was made today on Classic FM. Don't know if you can listen outside of the UK but you can listen to the track here for the next 7 days: ukrp.musicradio.com/classicfm/aod?episodeId=229053I actually quite like it to be honest Huggles Vhari x

Celtic Woman, Orla Fallon and now Hayley Westenra have followed Jewel, Celine Dion and Kenny Loggins into the lullaby business.

Lullaby albums are very special, not everyones taste. More for the fans who buy everything and parents with little children.

It's not the first Lullaby album. Celtic Woman have released one, as well as Greta Bradman. Celine Dion has probably released the most famous one, but then, she's not CC. This is definitely a niche product and I would consider it a side project rather than Hayley's official musical direction. CC music tied in with the royals hasn't shown much success as of late. Perhaps enough to get Decca some money, but they haven't been commercial successes by any stretch of the imagination.

I really enjoyed listening to the five tracks. I could actually feel a sense of relaxation flowing over me, imagine what this can do for a baby! One song I will definitely download is Hushabye Mountain. love the song and love Hayley's voice singing it.
