I saw All Angels last night, performing in the Royal British Legion Christmas Celebration in the magnificent setting of the City of London Guildhall. The program comprised choral items, brass band music and carols for everyone to sing along, interspersed with some highly entertaining readings (alongside more traditional ones) presented by some well-known actors and personalities.
But of course the highlight was the Angels. They sang three songs – ‘Infant Holy’, ‘Ding Dong Merrily on High’ and ‘An Angel Cries’; all acapella. It’s hard to believe that it is over two years since I last saw them live, but they still have the power to lift me to amazing heights with their music.
In monetary terms, that works out at nearly £12 per song (and worth every penny) but what I experienced last night was priceless.
