From JEFC --- I was in Portsmouth for the Music Hall concert by Jackie Evancho. I would say it was 75% full. I spoke to some ushers who noted 2 other big functions were going on at the same time. The Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce had a big gathering with a street blocked off near the theater and a tent set up, food being served that took a lot of potential concert goers away. Also there was another concert at another venue that night. All in all I thought the concert was one of the best I have attended. Jackie was beautiful and great, singing with an amazing 20 person orchestra. And I was impressed with that old buildings acoustics. All three combined to make it a great night, my 2nd row aisle seat helped too. I was deflated in the beginning when Jackie announced she would be singing songs from her previous albums and no songs from Awakening. Everyone I know were expecting Awakening songs in the August concerts. But maybe during the second song Jackie sounded so good that I soon was enjoying the music and had a great experience. I loved the fact that Jackie was very glib that night, she expressed herself very well and added to the night. Her words of wisdom were like her singing ,well beyond her 14 years. I loved the smaller venue that is the Music Hall, plus it's only 40 miles from my house. Thank you Jackie for a great night.

Alisa Mustafina's photos www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=688422524572114&set=pcb.573347772775939&type=1&theaterHello Everyone! Jackie started her new tour after summer break on August 6th, and I was very lucky having a chance to attend the concert in Portsmouth, NH! I'm not good at writing long and detailed reports, however, I still want to say a few words.. It was my fourth time seeing Jackie in live concert.. The songs which she sang I heard a thousand times and most of them 2 or 3 times in live concerts.. However, I want to say that this time I still felt goosebumps and how my heart was sinking as when I heard Jackie for the first time.. Jackie's voice was so powerful, so I could feel vibration under my feet.. Her voice echoed inside of me.. It was a breathtaking feeling!.. Another incredible thing was that at this concert I saw that little girl who won my heart a few years ago.. At some points I was mesmerized by that penetrating, pensive, kind and shy look which I've seen thousands of times in the videos and never could get enough of it.. Jackie changed, but I still could see that 10 years old little girl in her movements, double waves, radiant happy smiles and sparkling eyes.. It was so enjoyable! I wish everyone could have the same experience and live through such delightful minutes! I really hope it will happen with all of you. I also want to say that it was so nice to meet other fans, as always! We are all on the same "Jackie wave "! Hope to meet more of you in Longwood Gardens and share incredible experience of PBS taping concert! See you soon!

Jackie Evancho at the Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Music Hall — One last time for the OldiesPosted on August 13, 2014 by bestofjackieontheweb Our good friend Bill Kazan kindly sent us this description and review of Jackie’s recent concert at the Music Hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on August 6th. We were especially heartened to hear that Jackie is becoming ever more confident onstage: Bill points out that her patter between songs didn’t sound rehearsed, as it did in the past. Instead, he says, “she was fluent and funny and obviously enjoying the reactions from the audience.” Her shy, ingenuous awkwardness was charming when she was 10 or 12; it will become less so as she matures into an adult performer. Letting the audience in on some of her own thoughts and feelings, which she did, and keeping her mom and dad in the picture are, we think, a sweet way to perpetuate her connection with her early fans, those who fondly remember Jackie when they seldom saw her beyond the embrace of her interesting and admirable parents. She and her family continue to shine as an apparently genuine example of what a wholesome family looks and acts like. Wonderful video, Jim! Thank you, Kari, for your post! You may want to post the video under "Lancaster, PA" instead of Portsmouth...
