I think this has been the best year ever for classical crossover in the US. There have more concert tours than ever. PBS has broadcast more concerts than ever. Jackie, IL Volo, Nathan, Nathan again in a Christmas concert, Celtic Woman, Mario's is due in December and the Tenors are either right around Christmas or the first part of January. Also, the artists are being featured on TV and radio interviews in the cities they are touring. I know I have forgotten someone but is so wonderful to see American audiences having some interest in the genre. We have a long way to go but the young artists seem to be making it happen!

I just read an article that really surprised me in regards to classical crossover music in the US. On a daytime drama, we call them soap operas, an actress on the program plays an Irish woman who has cancer with only a bit more time to live. She decides to have a celebration of life party for herself, inviting all her friends. The theme of the party is to be all things Celtic. And guess who is the entertainment, none other than Celtic Woman. I know Celtic Woman is touring the US and is having a PBS concert later this month. They must have been in the Los Angeles area at the time the drama was being filmed. There have been a few pop stars who made an appearances on a daytime drama but this is the first classical crossover group that I have ever heard about. I wish I had known about this sooner. I would loved to have watched the program.

This is really great news! I can't believe Hayley is back in the states this month after being here in June with Mario.

I agree, and what is even better, the concerts in many cases are either sold out or close to that!
Just a check today shows that Jackie E.'s next concert (Florida) has a waiting list and has had one for a long time. Her concert 2 days later, also Florida, shows that that concert is close to sell-out also, even tho it is still 2 weeks from now.
