Hi Folks. Yes it seems everybody has picked on the fact that it wasn't her usual stella perfomance. Going by her hectic schedule I'd say she certainly needs to rest. Her parents are usually pretty good at keeping a watchfull eye on her. Don't be surprised if some of her engagements are curtailed. If we, her fans, can pick up on how she looks you can bet Mike and Lisa have too. Fingers crossed for the little angel.

I just compared this version to the DWM CD version.
The show cut a whole verse out. This will happen when a show needs to shoehorn a long song in a shorter segment.
I also think I heard the show's piano trying to either anticipate or follow her, and somehow, somewhere, things didn't seem to come together right. Was there a conductor there to set the pace, or were the piano and Jackie expected to "duke it out" on stage? I noticed things improved a bit when the violins entered.
I've heard that the summer tour dates with various orchestras all had a common thread, the Conductor. If true, a very smart thing to do. As absolutely astounding as Jackie is, too much could be thrown at her, or changed on her to take her onstage presence down a notch.
I have two 10 year-old grand-daughters, and I see limits on how far and how fast change can be absorbed and most importantly, internalized. Even Jackie, who shows incredible focus and professionalism must have some of the same problems.
I know I sound like I thought her performance was off, but I'll tell you, the minor minor issues I have are probably best directed at producers, directors and conductors who don't allow enough time to make the changes to fit the show and work with the talent.

Yes I totally agree. The problem is that because she is so 'grown up' musically that they might tend to forget sometimes that she is still a little girl. She does cope very well and I think a conductor is an absolute must. She would be able to compensate for some adjustments, ad lib, but that's what a conductors for to make sure that it all 'flows'. Good comment.

This recent tweet 2 hours ago might clarify a bit. jackieevancho "much advice from well-mning fans has me confsed which is right, which way is not to sing so i think I'll go back to what works for me."
I thought she sang very well. But if this performance is what she is referring to, then yes Jackie go back to what works for you. And nobody should ever be removing verses from her beautiful songs for timeslots. Every appearance should allow Jackie to reach for perfection, which is what she thrives on. And yes a conductor to keep all the musicians performing smoothly together is a definite must.

I choose to believe that Jackie's rendition of Angel helped CHASE decide the major award winner.

Chase Announces Winners of First-Ever American Giving Awards
JPMorgan Chase has announced the recipients of the first-ever American Giving Awards, a televised celebrity tribute event which aired last Sunday on NBC.
Florida-based To Write Love on Her Arms, which works to assist people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and thoughts of suicide, was awarded the $1 million top prize. Four runners-up will receive a portion of the remaining $1 million; they are New York City-based Let's Get Ready ($500,000); the Matthew Shepard Foundation in Casper, Wyoming ($250,000); the Wish Upon a Hero Foundation in Moorestown, New Jersey ($125,000); and Move for Hunger in Neptune, New Jersey ($125,000).
Presented by Chase, Dick Clark Productions, and Intersport, the AGAs were developed to complement Chase's charitable giving program, which awards more than $150 million each year. Through the program, five charities were selected to receive grants based on the number of online votes they received from the bank's 3.3 million Facebook fans and online customers.
"The American Giving Awards was a terrific way to honor outstanding charitable work and to celebrate the spirit of giving that Chase supports in communities around the world," said JPMorgan Chase Foundation president Kimberly Davis. "We look forward to continuing the successful partnership with [our] Chase Community Giving fans on Facebook."
