IL Volo was on PBS in concert. These young men are fantastic. I enjoyed it so much, I purchased the DVD. The US audience has really accepted them. This is so great for classical crossover music. Now besides Sarah, Andrea, Josh, and IL Divo, we have Jackie and the newest is IL Volo. Slowly but surely the genre is coming alive in the US.

That's great news, Bonnie! Il Volo recently released their album here, but it was to limited success, to say the least. I think they deserve global stardom. I love those boys! Their voices are stunning, and so charismatic!

Yes, I saw them on PBS a couple nights ago, and they were on again last night! I think it's great that Il Volo is getting such good exposure on american TV. They have such fabulous voices, and I'm sure they charmed anyone who was watching!

They have FANTASTIC voices and they're so adorable! XD I love these guys! I only wish the album tracklisting was more original (That goes for many other artists, too). Maybe it's just me or maybe most Americans just haven't been over-exposed to some of these songs yet. (Besides class-cross, I do listen to quite a bit of opera.)... It's working for them, though!! It's always nice to see a CC group having a good time here in the US!

@jenny A - re: your comment for a wish to have Il Volo's album tracklist be more original. I am an administrator for two Il Volo fan clubs & I help out when I can with media outreach for them. I am VERY excited about their next album, on which they are using some original songs, written by one or more of these fantastic musicians, who have been learning since they were 3 yrs old. I got to hear some of the chord progressions of the one that Ignazio is working on (Beautiful!!) And I've translated the lyrics into Italian for a song my friend, Charlotte Cook, composed (Il Fiore nel Deserto). We gave it to Piero & he was excited to work with it -- I don't know if they'll use it on this next album, however. Whatever they choose to do, it will be Meraviglioso!

Jenny - here is the UK all the CC artists use the same song book over and over. It's not unique to America. It's just that it's the "safe" thing to do. I despise it myself. I did hear quite a bit on their album that I hadn't before though there were a lot of standards.

That's true, nicola... I can see the need to have a "safe" first album. Still drives me crazy, though! Maybe I'll give their album another shot... alicia: That's great news!! I hope it all works out in the end! I may buy the next album.

I don't know how to display the cover of IL Volo's new album on here. I wish someone could. I looked at it and thought they had a new member. But it really is Ignazio! Wow, what an amazing change in appearance! I forgot to look at the song list, I was so amazed.

Thank you, Inga. I pre-ordered their album. I just am amazed at how handsome Ignazio looks.

Il Volo's tour of the US was very successful. They have been invited to participate in the 80th anniversary of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting in New York. It will be broadcast on Nov. 28th from 7- 9 PM. Last year Jackie Evancho and Katherine Jenkins appeared in the festivity.

Their PBS special 'IL Volo Takes Flight' ran back to back with Jackie's 'Songs from the Silver Screen' special this year on the Dallas affiliate KERA, so I'm sure they both benefited by the promotional synergy. I just saw their Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting performance tonight. They did quite well. Their albums were on sale on Amazon, too. So I snapped them up.
