I often receive e-mails from Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk. They are either featuring Cds that are on sale or new releases. I see all kinds of catagories, including easy listening and alternative music but I see no category for classical crossover. So I decided to contact them. I asked that they establish a category of classical crossover music. I asked their marketing department to do some research into what classical crossover music actually is. I gave them this website and told them to read Nicola's article on, 'What is classical crossover?". I sited the fact that Jackie Evancho has made a major impact in the world of music but she does not sing opera, she sings classical crossover. I gave them names of artists whose music they would had to have heard of, such as Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli. The I told them to check out the 114 artists listed on this site. I feel the genre needs to be individualized. Amazon is one of the largest companies in the world. I decided to head right for the top. If any of you agree with me on this subject, would you please contact Amazon and make a similar request. We spend a great deal of money on this music and I think we need to be a bit more vocal on the genre.

That's a very good idea. I'll try to do the same. If they get it worked out i expect my recommendation would improve some. I use amazon a lot.
